Warning! This article contains spoilers for MobLand season 1 and mentions of rape!
Guy Ritchie (Snatch and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels) served as an executive producer and directed the first two episodes.
Throughout the season, the Harrigan family was shown to be losing their grip on their control of the drug market. This escalated into a war with the Stevensons that turned increasingly personal as family on both sides were brutally murdered. The Harrigans were led by Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) and his wife, Maeve (Helen Mirren), but this deteriorated as the season progressed. The MobLand season 1 finale ends with the pair in jail and a question of who will lead the family, especially after Richie Stevenson is killed.
Kevin Should Lead The Harrigan Family
Kevin Has Finally Stepped Up As A Leader
Conrad's children all played different roles throughout season 1, but Kevin is the character who had the most growth. Going from understated and easily manipulated to directly confronting his father in prison shows that Kevin is ready to step up and lead the Harrigan family. Kevin goes through significant trials as one of his siblings, Brendan, is killed with a chainsaw, and he also reveals that his son Eddie, is another child of Conrad's. Kevin also confronts and kills his childhood rapist.
When Kevin stands up to Conrad, he says that the Harrigan name is going to mean something again.
In the final episode of MobLand season 1, Kevin transitions into a leader with Conrad and Maeve in prison. Kevin enlists the help of Harry (Tom Hardy), and the pair finally kill Richie Stevenson. When Kevin stands up to Conrad, he says that the Harrigan name is going to mean something again. If Kevin has conviction, he could be a stabilizing force after a whirlwind war that had death and destruction. With leadership being in such disarray, someone will need to fill the void.
Other Players Will Be Vying For Power
Control Of The Family Will Play A Big Part In The Story Going Forward
It remains unclear how many family will fall in line with Kevin. Conrad has no intention of giving up power and is shown trying to come up with a plan to escape prison with Maeve. However, Maeve is also shown colluding with Eddie to take over the family. Now that Eddie knows Conrad is his father, and he has no blood relation to Maeve, their uncomfortable dynamic will only grow. Even if Maeve is unable to be the face of the Harrigan family, she may be able to manipulate others to do her work for her.
Seraphina Harrigan (Mandeep Dhillon) may also make a move to take control of the family. While also not related to Maeve, she has shown the highest level of intelligence out of the Harrigan children. Many of her actions and dealings are outside the direct family business, so she may not be able to turn people to her side. Despite being very capable, Seraphina was almost killed, and that may make other of the family unsure of her ability to lead.

"The Beast In Me:" The Song In MobLand's Finale & What It Means Explained
The season finale of Paramount+'s MobLand is titled "The Beast in Me", inspired by a classic song that plays multiple times during the episode.
Kat McCallister (Janet McTeer) also shows interest in gaining control of the Harrigan empire. While how far her reach goes is unknown, she is shown as a powerful force in the criminal underground with more influence than any member of the Harrigan or Stevenson family. With Harry turning down her offer to come work for her, Kat will be gunning for more power and may be able to wrestle control away from Harrigans while Conrad is in prison.
With the Stevenson family also in turmoil following Ritchie's death, Kat is a likely candidate to try and take control. However, if Kevin can maintain loyalty, he may be able to push back the others trying to take control in MobLand.
