The world of My Hero Academia is often filled with strife, animosity, and characters who are sworn enemies. At the same time, though, there are a number of beautiful, irable friendships depicted alongside these less than amicable interactions. Friendship is one of life's greatest gifts, and My Hero Academia heroes and villains alike recognize the importance of connecting with others in this way.
Some of these relationships are quite complicated and started off with both friends despising one another, like Bakugo and Deku's. Other friendships were solid and strong from their very first interactions, like Ochaco and Deku's. By displaying so many different kinds of bonds, My Hero Academia shows that there are so many different ways to be a friend and grow close to others.
10 The League of Villains
This Found Family of Villains Shares a Close Friendship and Accepts Each Other's Dangerous Quirks
Although the League of Villains are undoubtedly evil, they love one another like a family, for the most part. Some are more invested in the found family dynamic than others and for like Spinner and Twice, the League is the only group who has ever accepted them. Within the League, there are also close individual friendships, like the camaraderie and seen between Twice and Toga.

10 Best My Hero Academia Villains, Ranked
My Hero Academia's villains are some of the most complex and well-written in anime, with tragic backstories and terrifying Quirks.
When Magne was killed by Overhaul, her teammates mourned her death as if she was a family member. Although these characters can be twisted and cruel, they look out for one another and share a unique bond. For many of the , society cast them out due to their uncontrollable Quirks, so they lean on each other for the friendship and love that they would never have otherwise.
9 Bakugo and Todoroki
These Two Strong, but Reserved U.A. High Students Are Able To Relate to and Trust One Another
Bakugo and Todoroki may seem an unlikely match. Bakugo is fiery and hot-headed, while Todoroki tends to be calm, quiet, and reserved. As their time at U.A. High progressed, they transformed from rivals to genuine friends. They are two of the strongest of the class, and they eventually began to respect the other person's might and talent.
When they both failed the Provisional Hero License Exam and were tasked with babysitting rowdy children with out of control Quirks, they bonded through the tough experience and worked together to entertain the kids. Their friendship only grew closer after this moment, with Bakugo eventually even defending Todoroki to his cruel father, Endeavor. Bakugo and Todoroki both have a tendency to shut themselves off from others, but they were thankfully able to trust and depend on each other.
8 All Might and Gran Torino
Gran Torino Helped All Might Become the #1 Hero, Carefully Training Him for Years
Back when All Might was attending U.A. as a student himself, he had an influential teacher who shaped him into the hero he is today. Gran Torino trained All Might consistently, encouraging him to hone his Quirk and learn to control it. The relationship between All Might and Gran Torino mirrors the later bond between All Might and Deku in a myriad of ways.
All Might trusted Gran Torino deeply and even after he graduated, he kept in touch with his old mentor, fighting on missions alongside him. Without Gran Torino's advice and tough but effective way of teaching, All Might may never have become such an accomplished hero. All Might acknowledges his deep respect for Gran Torino and even sent Deku on an internship with him, hoping that he would offer Deku the same wisdom he granted to All Might in his youth.
7 Todoroki and Deku
Deku s Todoroki Through Tough Moments, Adding a Source of Kindness and Positivity to His Life
Because of Todoroki's difficult childhood filled with abuse from his father, Endeavor, he is understandably nervous to open up to people. Deku's kind, positive presence encouraged Todoroki to feel comfortable around him though, fostering a relationship between the pair. From working as a team during the Sports Festival to sharing a meal together at Todoroki's home, Todoroki and Deku have enjoyed many happy moments, both at U.A. and outside of school.

My Hero Academia: Endeavor Isn't As Redeemable As The Manga Makes It Seem
My Hero Academia has been slowly pushing a redemption arc for pro hero Endeavor, but fans aren't buying into the idea of redemption for this ab.
Deku also shows sympathy and love for Todoroki as he struggles with mistreatment from his family. When Todoroki needed a caring friend the most, Deku entered his life to uplift him in his darkest moments. These two powerful heroes also learn a lot from one another in training and classes, finding themselves inspired by the other's incredible Quirk.
6 Ochaco and Deku
This Duo Offers Unending and Encouragement to One Another, With a Dash of Romance Mixed In
Ochaco and Deku became fast friends, from the minute they entered U.A. High School. They are two of the most bubbly, optimistic of Class 1-A, and their sunny dispositions always encourage each other. Their relationship is often flirtatious and bordering on romantic, but despite never officially becoming a couple, it is clear they get along phenomenally well.
When Deku went off on his own as a vigilante, Ochaco urged him to return to U.A., stating how deeply his classmates, including herself, care for him. Likewise, anytime Ochaco is feeling nervous and discouraged, she thinks about Deku's resilience and heroic deeds to cheer herself up. Their friendship is a perfect example of a bond that is truly mutually beneficial, since being around each other brings them both happiness and motivates them to always try their best.
5 The Big Three: Mirio, Tamaki, and Nejire
The Big Three Couldn't Have Achieved Their Heroic Status Without the Unwavering They Give Each Other
Every U.A. student is in awe of the friend group called the Big Three, consisting of Mirio, Tamaki, and Nejire. These three friends are not only the top heroes in U.A., they work seamlessly as a team due to their unbreakable friendship. For example, Tamaki used to feel insecure and inadequate, but Mirio told Tamaki he "shines like the sun," and these words of loving inspiration helped Tamaki see the good in himself.
The trio is rarely apart, since they fight so well together. The Big Three even managed to take on tough villains like Overhaul and Shigaraki and survive by protecting each other and syncing up their attacks. They don't only battle together though, they also spend time together in more casual settings, enjoying each other's friendship in their downtime when no fights are occurring.
4 Toga and Ochaco
Ochaco Looked Past Toga’s Villainy and Quirk and Loved Her as a Person, Which Toga Appreciated Deeply
Toga and Ochaco's friendship seemed quite unlikely. Although they were on opposing sides of the battlefield, that never hindered their growing friendship. Ochaco saw Toga for the person she is, rather than just focusing on her dangerous Transform Quirk, like the rest of society did.
Ochaco was desperate to save Toga from the League of Villains and her pursuit of evil. She showed a willingness to get to know Toga and did not judge her harshly, which warmed Toga's heart. Sadly, Toga died to save Ochaco's life during a fight and the duo's friendship never got to develop further, but they would have been the best of friends had Toga survived.
3 All Might and Deku
All Might Not Only Recognized Deku’s Potential, He Devoted Years of His Life To Training Him
Without All Might, Deku might have always been Quirkless. All Might gave Deku the greatest gift anyone possibly could have offered, enabling the young student to attend his dream school, U.A. High. All Might did not just down his Quirk and then leave Deku alone, he continually mentored and trained him for years.

Deku Is My Hero Academia's Main Character, But the Anime's' Best Hero Is Someone Else
Contrary to what fans may think, Deku is not the main hero of My Hero Academia, and another character deserves this title far more.
When Deku struggled to use One For All without injuring himself, All Might was there to help. In all of Deku's most discouraged and sorrowful moments, All Might has always appeared to offer words of encouragement or necessary advice. Deku definitely repaid the favor by making All Might proud and carrying on his legacy. Although the former Symbol of Peace is technically Deku's mentor, he is also one of the best friends Deku has ever had.
2 Bakugo and Kirishima
Kirishima Offers Bakugo Patience and Necessary Criticism, While Bakugo Helps Kirishima Become Stronger
Bakugo can be abrasive and unkind, which has caused him to have very few friendships in his life. Eijiro Kirishima is a true friend to Bakugo though, showing him patience and love, even when Bakugo is difficult to deal with. Kirishima does not allow Bakugo's negative behavior to slide and is unafraid to reprimand him when needed.
Bakugo has helped Kirishima on many occasions too. Thanks to Bakugo's ive words, Kirishima unlocked his Ultimate Move, Red Riot: Unbreakable. Their friendship is one of the best in My Hero Academia and truly helps them both grow as heroes.
1 Bakugo and Deku
Bakugo Used To Be Deku’s Bully, but Later Became One of His Closest Friends, Even Saving His Life
At the beginning of My Hero Academia, a friendship between Bakugo and Deku seemed doomed to fail. Despite his unwillingness to it it, Bakugo was very jealous of Deku and channeled his insecurity into rude remarks towards Deku. By season 6 of My Hero Academia, Bakugo gave Deku the apology he deserved for his harmful behavior.
Once Bakugo changed his perception of Deku from a sworn enemy to a friend, their relationship grew. Deku helped Bakugo develop empathy for others and Bakugo inspired Deku with his powerful Explosion Quirk. Bakugo and Deku have even saved each other's lives; Deku saved Bakugo from the League of Villains when they kidnapped him, and Bakugo later took a hit from Shigaraki to protect Deku.
