The new story trailer for Metro Exodus promises to take fans beyond the tunnels of Moscow as they follow the continuing adventures of Artyom and his crew of Spartans. The new game is a direct sequel to Metro: Last Light, taking place two years after that title's "Redemption" ending.

The first game in the series, Metro 2033, took players to a post-apocalyptic Russia on an Earth laid to waste by nuclear war in 2013. Taking place in 2033, players took on the role of Artyom, one of a handful of survivors who survived by living in the subway tunnels beneath Moscow. After an attack on his station, Artyom gets sent out to find help, having to fight enemies, both human and mutant, on his way. The second title, Metro: Last Light, followed suit, with players continuing Artyom's journey beneath the city. However, Metro Exodus will have Artyom leaving the safety of the tunnels and traveling on a train, the Aurora, to the Ural Mountains in the east. The new title will have double the content of its predecessor with day and night cycles that will affect how enemies react to Artyom.

Deep Silver and 4A Games released a story trailer showing off more of what players can expect when they play Metro Exodus. Narrated by Artyom's wife, Anna, the new trailer give players a first look at other characters in the title and showcases some of the locations Artyom will get to visit.

This new trailer highlights the differences between Metro Exodus from other titles in the franchise. It follows a previous Metro Exodus trailer that first allowed players to see a shift from a linear gameplay experience to one with more open world areas, although it is not considered an actual open world game. Deep Silver and Microsoft also announced the Xbox One X Metro Saga Bundle, now available for pre-orders. The bundle includes a 1TB Xbox One X Console, along with all three Metro games for those players who need to get caught up before playing Metro Exodus.

Metro Exodus releases on February 15 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Players will need to decide if they want to pick up a copy, especially Far Cry New Dawn. Maybe this story trailer will convince players to pick up Metro Exodus over other games, but for those players with unlimited bank balances, it's likely to be one of many titles added to the "must play" list for that month.
