When the first MCU as he ended up being. The character sounds goofy on paper and he isn't one of the comic book company's most notable names but he's become wildly popular.
Thanks to the performance of Paul Rudd and those around him, the characters of the Ant-Man franchise are beloved. Each of them has at least one scene where they got to stand out and it has gone down as the one fans associate most with them.
Jimmy Woo - Being Impressed By Magic
When Ant-Man and the Wasp, it didn't seem like he was going to be all that important. He was some comedic relief as the agent in charge of Scott Lang's house arrest status and that often made them butt heads.
However, Jimmy seemed to genuinely like Scott and vice versa. He's not in the movies for long but fans will likely never forget seeing him be shockingly impressed by Scott's ability to do close-up magic to the point where he wanted to learn it himself. Jimmy even seemed to have learned a bit by the time showed up in WandaVision.
Sonny Burch - Truth Serum
For most of the sequel, Sonny Burch (Walton Goggins) acts as a secondary antagonist while the heroes deal with a bigger threat in the form of Ghost. Sonny had a pretty funny scene with Luis where he used a substance to get information out of him.
Luis called it a truth serum but Sonny and his henchmen continually denied that. Later in the film, his iconic moment came when he was injected with the substance and itted it was a truth serum as he laid out his evil plans to the cops who came up to him. Goggins delivered these lines in perfect fashion.
Jim Paxton - Protecting Cassie
In his very first scene, Jim Paxton (Bobby Cannavale) seems like a character the audience is meant to dislike. He immediately disses Scott and feels like he's there to be Scott's ex-wife's new boyfriend who will be an antagonist. Thankfully, the films went a different route.
Jim eventually ended up becoming friends with Scott and one reason is their shared love of Scott's daughter, Cassie. In the first film, when Yellowjacket came to threaten Cassie, Jim valiantly protected her despite being overmatched against the villain, showing his bravery.
Luis - The Recap
It has gone on to become one of the most memorable scenes in the entire MCU. Luis (Michael Peña) has a penchant for storytelling and the way he delivers his stories is downright hilarious. The films go through every character he mentions and see them tell the story but with Luis doing the voiceover work.
Fans loved it so much that they even wanted Luis to do a major MCU recap ahead of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Ava Starr/Ghost - How She Got Her Powers
As noted, the primary antagonist of Ant-Man and the Wasp was Ava Starr/Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) though it would be incorrect to label Ghost as a villain. She was just someone who had a plan that got in the way of the heroes but she wasn't evil at all.
That became clear in the scene depicting her backstory, which showcased how she lost her father and ended up with her phasing ability due to a failed experiment. It was the moment that let the audience know that she was sympathetic and made them want to root for her to get better.
Darren Cross/Yellowjacket - Trainset Fight
The main villain of Ant-Man was Darren Cross (Corey Stoll) who eventually used Pym technology to become Yellowjacket. He is one of the more unhinged antagonists in the entire MCU though his fight with Ant-Man ended up being one that is pretty comical.
The two collided in Cassie's room and due to their small statures, they were able to have the fight on her trainset. That meant Thomas the Train and other toys running them over and more antics like that. It's not specific to Yellowjacket but it's likely what most fans think about when it comes to his character.
Cassie Lang - Wanting To Be Her Dad's Partner
The relationship between Scott Lang and his daughter Cassie (Abby Ryder Fortson) is one of the most heartwarming in the MCU. Their scenes together are almost too adorable for words but their best moment had to come in the sequel in the form of a simple conversation.
Cassie spoke to Scott about how good it would be for him to have a partner. He mentioned Hope but Cassie tearfully says that she meant herself and for him not to laugh at the idea. It's incredibly cute, shines a light on their bond, and hints at Cassie's likely future as a Young Avenger in the MCU.
Hank Pym - Saving Janet In The Quantum Realm
The other father/daughter relationship in this series is between Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Hope Van Dyne. It was rocky at first, specifically following the apparent death of Hope's mother Janet, which happened when she went "sub-atomic" while on a mission with Hank.
Ant-Man and the Wasp saw Hank finally hop into a heroic suit of his own as he found a way into the Quantum Realm in an attempt to rescue his wife. Janet was revealed to still be alive there and Hank succeeded in getting her out in an emotional scene.
Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp - The Restaurant Fight
In the first time, Hope (Evangeline Lilly) was mostly there to help train Scott and be a romantic interest but for the sequel, she got to be a hero. Hope donned the Wasp suit and proved to be even more of a butt kicker than Scott.
She did so in her first scene wearing the suit, as Janet took down a slew of bad guys who worked for Sonny Burch. From using her wings to running up a knife while small, Janet applied every bit of her abilities to this moment. It let the audience know that they were seeing a legitimate hero in the making.
Scott Lang/Ant-Man - Fighting With Falcon
Interestingly, although Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) is the star of these movies, his most iconic MCU moments are ones from team-up movies. Whether it was him going big in Captain America: Civil War or coming up with the time heist idea in Avengers: Endgame, he shines in group settings.
So, it's likely that his most memorable moment in his own films came in the first one when he ended up fighting Sam Wilson at one of the Avengers facilities. It set the stage for a pairing that has been pretty fun so far and saw Scott actually beat an Avenger one on one.
