A new gameplay showcase of Marvel's Midnight Suns Spider-Man gameplay, and now the cosmic warrior Captain Marvel has flown into the spotlight.

While it is based on Marvel's supernatural squad the Midnight Sons, Firaxis Games' tactical RPG Marvel's Midnight Suns will incorporate a varied roster of characters. Some supernatural figures will be included in the game like the vampire slayer Blade, the Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Ride and the mystical mutant Magik. However, Marvel's Midnight Suns will also let players meet and command other Marvel icons like Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man and Captain Marvel. The game will also introduce The Hunter, a customizable protagonist designed in a collaboration between Marvel and Firaxis Games. The October release of Marvel's Midnight Suns is quickly approaching, and now Firaxis has begun highlighting the title's colorful roster of superheroes.

A gameplay showcase posted to YouTube by Marvel's Midnight Suns sheds light on Captain Marvel's cosmic abilities and powerful Binary mode. The mighty Marvel hero has a dedicated Binary meter, which builds up as players activate her cards, and filling this meter lets Carol Danvers go Binary. Going Binary makes her incredibly powerful by granting Block and doubling her damage output. If Block reaches zero Captain Marvel loses her Binary form, but increasing Block often Taunts enemies too. This means that Captain Marvel attracts a lot of enemy attention, balancing out her amazing powers. Danvers also focuses on Counters, which let her return damage to aggressive enemies.

Marvel's Midnight Suns Makes Captain Marvel A Cosmic Powerhouse

While having plenty of Marvel's Midnight Suns characters to chose from is exciting, some fans feel that the title's roster doesn't fit its tone. The Midnight Sons traditionally deal with the dark and even terrifying aspects of the Marvel universe. Characters like Blade, Ghost Rider, Doctor Strange, Magik and Nico Minoru fit this theme, but heroes like Wolverine, Iron Man and Captain Marvel do not. The presence of these characters will add variety to gameplay, but at the cost of the typical Midnight Sons aesthetic.

Marvel's Midnight Suns will boast a large roster of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, allowing players to form the perfect squad and fight the forces of darkness. Captain Marvel isn't usually a magical demon slayer, but her cosmic Binary powers will make her a valuable force on the battlefield regardless. Players will get to experience Carol Danvers' amazing Binary abilities when Marvel's Midnight Suns launches in October.
