One of the funniest running gags in Marvel Comics is Spider-Man, as Wade Wilson’s advances make Peter Parker so hilariously uncomfortable, pushing Deadpool to keep the joke going for as long as possible. However, their ‘relationship’ has already been taken to the next level, as it’s no longer a case of unrequited love, but co-parenting. That’s right, Deadpool and Spider-Man have a daughter together (yes, really).
In Spider-Man/Deadpool #9 by Joe Kelly and Ed McGuinness, Spider-Man and Deadpool are crime-fighting partners after Spider-Man convinced Deadpool to give up killing for good. The two heroes find themselves in the middle of a battle against a team of villains called Hateful Hexad, and while they’re making pretty quick work of the B-list bad guys, Deadpool and Spider-Man suddenly notice that someone else has come to help them fight the villains: Itsy Bitsy.
Itsy Bitsy starts murdering the of the Hateful Hexad, all while hauntingly singing a twisted version of “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”. When Deadpool and Spider-Man notice her, Itsy Bitsy refers to both of them as “daddy”. Why? Well, that’s revealed in her origin.
Itsy Bitsy was originally a woman suffering from drug addiction, who was taken advantage of by Patient Zero. Patient Zero used the DNA of both Spider-Man and Deadpool to turn this woman (whom he renamed Susan Mary) into a spider-mutant. Itsy Bitsy grew four more arms (giving her eight limbs in total), she developed all of Spider-Man’s powers (wall-crawling, spider-sense, web-shooting), and she got Deadpool’s healing factor. In other words, technically speaking, Itsy Bitsy is the daughter of Deadpool and Spider-Man.
Spider-Man & Deadpool Having a Daughter May Seem Funny, but It’s Actually Tragic
Itsy Bitsy is Utterly Rejected by Her ‘Parents’, as Deadpool & Spider-Man Try to Kill Her
The idea that Spider-Man and Deadpool have a daughter together seems hilarious, especially considering the aforementioned running gag of Deadpool’s crush on Spider-Man. However, the reality of the situation is actually incredibly tragic. Not only was Itsy Bitsy mutated when she was in no condition to consent to something like that, but after trying to connect with Deadpool and Spider-Man (albeit in a much too violent way), she was rejected by her fathers.
Itsy Bitsy wasn’t just rejected by Deadpool and Spider-Man, but they actively tried to kill her - and even kind of succeeded. Deadpool and Spider-Man vaporized Itsy Bitsy, deciding that she was too dangerous to be kept alive. While Itsy Bitsy was able to heal from her apparent death and take the form of a tiny spider (and is still at large in the Marvel Universe to this day), she was still utterly rejected by her fathers, making her story way more of a tragedy than a comedy.
Itsy Bitsy Isn’t Spider-Man & Deadpool’s Only Shared Relative
Deadpool’s Symbiote Daughter, Princess, is Also Related to Spider-Man
Interestingly enough, Itsy Bitsy isn’t Spider-Man and Deadpool’s only shared relative, as Deadpool’s symbiote daughter, Princess, is directly related to Spider-Man as well. Princess is the offspring of Deadpool and Carnage, Carnage is the ‘son’ of Venom, and Venom’s first human host was Spider-Man. That means Spider-Man is basically Princess’ grandpa, establishing yet another familial connection between Spider-Man and Deadpool.

Deadpool's New Suit Sets Up a Major Marvel Problem
Deadpool just got a new costume in Marvel Comics, & it means bad news for the entire world, as Deadpool's new suit comes with a villainous new title.
While the fact that Princess is another shared relative is interesting, Deadpool and Spider-Man’s connection through Itsy Bitsy is much more direct. True, it’s a bit more complicated than the method by which most people have a child, but Itsy Bitsy is technically the daughter of Spider-Man and Deadpool, making the fact that they so utterly rejected her when she reached out heartbreakingly tragic.

Spider-Man is the name given to several individuals who have employed a spider-moniker throughout Marvel Comics. Typically gaining their powers through a bite from a radioactive spider, the different Spider-Man heroes employ super-strength, agility, and intellect while utilizing webbing to swing and tangle up their foes. The most notable of these Spider-Men is Peter Parker, who remains one of the most popular superheroes throughout the world.
