The popular new Booster Course tracks in their latest DLC release. This DLC release is just the first of six total releases that will bring 48 new tracks to Mario Kart 8. Each wave of this Booster Course DLC will release eight tracks.

Mario Kart 8 was first released to the Wii U in 2014 before being ported over to the Nintendo Switch as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in April 2017. It is one of the best-selling video games with a large selection of tracks and characters. There are a total of 42 playable characters and 48 courses before this DLC release.

This first wave of the Booster Course DLC includes eight tracks for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. These eight tracks are all from previous versions of the Mario Kart franchise, as all waves of this DLC will be. The eight tracks are Toad Circuit, Sky Garden, Tokyo Blur, Choco Mountain, Paris Promenade, Coconut Mall, Shroom Ridge, and Ninja Hideaway.

Where To Find The Booster Course DLC Tracks in Mario Kart 8

There are two different ways for players to acquire the Booster Course DLC for their Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game. Players with a paid Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack hip will get this DLC at no additional cost. However, the Booster Course DLC can also be purchased separately for $24.99 in the Nintendo eShop.

Once purchased, players must make sure their Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is updated to the latest software version of 2.0.0. If the game is entirely up to date, players will need to the Booster Course DLC from the Nintendo eShop manually. After that, there are just a few easy steps to before players can enjoy these new tracks.

  1. At the main menu of the Nintendo Switch, select the “Nintendo Switch Online” button at the bottom right.
  2. Choose “+ Expansion Pack” at the bottom of the left-hand side menu.
  3. Scroll to the right to the “Booster Course ” box at the top.
  4. Select the “Details” box on the bottom left.
  5. Select the “” button at the bottom left.
  6. Once ed, press the Home button on the Nintendo Switch to head back to the main menu.
  7. Select the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe icon to start the game and press A to get past the opening menu.
  8. After choosing a game mode, Grand Prix, speed, character, wheels, and glider, the course selection screen will appear.
  9. Press the “R” button to scroll over from the original tracks to the new Booster Course tracks. The background will change from blue to purple when entering the DLC content.
  10. The two available cups to choose from are the Golden Dash Cup and Luck Cat Cup.
