X-Men comics changed forever in 2019 with the dawn of the Krakoan era, which has found mutantkind flourish as a self-determined community in a way never before witnessed in Marvel Comics' history – but all eras are predominately defined by their beginnings and endings, and as outgoing X-Men Senior Editor Jordan D. White declared in a recent interview, he and the creators' behind Marvel's various X-titles are, "finishing [their] Krakoa plans."
AIPT's recent X-Men Monday #223, coming just days before the start of 2023's New York Comic-Con, featured an interview with White, who will be leaving the role of X-Men Senior Editor at the conclusion of the "Fall of X" event.
White will be succeeded by Marvel's VP of Publishing and Executive Editor Tom Brevoot, who will be editing X-Men for the first time.

"Fall of the House of X": X-Men Officially Announces the Final Battle of the Krakoan Age
Marvel reveals that Krakoa's final battle against their enemies will come in January, with "Fall of the House of X" and "Rise of the Powers of X."
The Fall Of X Is A Sprawling Final Act For The Krakoan Era
In his X-Men Monday interview, Jordan D. White assured AIPT that the long built toward culmination of the Krakoan era he and his creative teams have been working toward is still in his hands. "We’re finishing our Krakoa plans," White said. "All the stuff that me and the folks working on Krakoa made – we’re seeing those plans through to their completion." AIPT doubled down, seeking to "avoid the eventual comics' conspiracy theories," by reiterating that "the Tom plans have zero impact" on how the Krakoan era storyline plays out. White confirmed this, saying, "[events] are going to be playing out exactly the same way that we had been planning them."
"I’m still thrilled about these plans, and I’m really thrilled that we’re able to make them happen," White said in the interview. Once these questions were put to rest, the interview went on to touch on topics from across the current "Fall of X" storyline, ranging from the Betsy Braddock. The X-Men Senior Editor also hyped the Resurrection of Magneto storyline, and the Fall of the House of X, which will lead into the intriguingly titled Rise of the Powers of X.
The Past Five Years Have Brought X-Men Storytelling To Unparalleled Heights
Jordan D. White has been the Senior Editor responsible for Marvel's X-Men titles since 2018 – meaning he holds a majority share of the responsibility, alongside writers like Jonathan Hickman, for reinventing the franchise, running wild with the characters and the limitless possibilities of mutantkind in a way that was only ever nearly-approached by Grant Morrison's New X-Men run from 2001-2004. X-Men readers owe a huge debt of gratitude to White and his work, and it is bittersweet, but fitting that the end of critically acclaimed Krakoan era will also be the end of his time at the helm of X-Men.
As expected, White was tight-lipped about what comes next for Marvel's mutants after the "Fall." Rise of the Powers of X hints at an entirely new, perhaps even more exciting era on the horizon. While the current Senior Editor couldn't give any hints as to what the Tom Brevoot era will bring post-Krakoa, he promised the change will bring its own benefits, calling it a "great way to shake X-Men up to try to get something new out of it is to give it to somebody who’s never done it before, and who has a different point of view on it." Before that, however, White and the X-Men writers must finish what they started.
