Jurassic World Rebirth is one of the most exciting movies coming out this summer. Additionally, it's the most excited I've been about a movie in the franchise since 2015's Jurassic World. Just like Jurassic World, Rebirth will start a new era for the franchise. While the 2015 film received mostly positive reviews from audiences and critics, its follow-up movies, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World Dominion, were very underwhelming. In fact, neither Fallen Kingdom nor Dominion felt like the original Jurassic Park movie at all.
Therefore, I'm glad that doesn't seem to be the case with the trailers for Jurassic World Rebirth, it does seem like the film will be a hit with both critics and audiences. In classic Jurassic Park fashion, it seems like Rebirth will include a lot of terrifying dinosaurs and thrilling action sequences. Therefore, here are the eight main reasons I'm excited for Jurassic World Rebirth:
8 Jurassic World Rebirth's Director Has Made Several Amazing Blockbusters
Gareth Edwards Has Made Monster Movies Before
Jurassic World Rebirth will be directed by Gareth Edwards, who has helmed previous blockbusters like Godzilla, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and The Creator. All three of these movies prove that Edwards is a talented director. Rogue One and Godzilla, in particular, showcase that Edwards is capable of working within an existing franchise. To this day, some fans still argue that Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie. A Star Wars influence will definitely be felt in Jurassic World Rebirth, as the new hybrid dinosaur resembles a Rancor from the galaxy far, far away.

Jurassic World Rebirth’s New Dinosaur Hybrid Is What I’ve Wanted From The Franchise For 10 Years
It took ten years, but I think Jurassic World Rebirth's most impressive new dinosaur can fulfil one of the franchise's greatest empty promises.
Moreso than Rogue One, Godzilla proves that Edwards was a great pick to direct Jurassic World Rebirth. In the 2014 film, Edwards brought monsters like Godzilla and MUTO to life. All the monsters in the movie which kickstarted the Monsterverse were terrifying, which proves that the dinosaurs in Jurassic World Rebirth will also be very scary. Many dinosaurs in the Jurassic Park franchise should be treated as monsters to evoke the horror that was present in the original movie. Therefore, it's great that Edwards has experience making monster movies.
7 The Writer Of The Original Jurassic Park Wrote Rebirth
David Koepp Will Ensure Rebirth Evokes The First Jurassic Park Movie
Over three decades after working with Steven Spielberg on the original Jurassic Park movie, screenwriter David Koepp was brought back to pen Rebirth. Koepp wrote the screenplays for Jurassic Park and its sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, but then left the franchise. Since Fallen Kingdom and Dominion disappointed both audiences and critics, it was a smart decision to bring Koepp back into the mix to write Jurassic World Rebirth, which will hopefully be one of the best movies in the long-running franchise.
The T-rex river chase sequence in Jurassic World Rebirth is a scene that was cut from the original Jurassic Park movie.
Since Koepp returned to the franchise after so many years, he was able to include scenes in Jurassic World Rebirth that never made it into the series' first two movies. For example, the T-rex river chase sequence in Jurassic World Rebirth is a scene that was cut from the original Jurassic Park movie. Based on the trailer for Rebirth, it seems like this scene will be terrifying, and help the new film match the tone of Jurassic Park, which is widely regarded as one of the best blockbusters of all time.
6 The Cast Of Jurassic World Rebirth Is Great
Scarlett Johansson Leads The Star-Studded Cast Of Jurassic World Rebirth
Obviously, the main appeal of the Jurassic Park movies is the many dinosaurs. However, no movie in the franchise would work without human characters. Thankfully, the cast of Jurassic World Rebirth is incredible. The movie will feature Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Mahershala Ali, and Rupert Friend in starring roles. While there are several other talented actors included in the cast, these are the most notable names. Johansson, in particular, is arguably the most popular actress in the world, and will bring a lot of star power to Jurassic World Rebirth.
In addition to Johansson, the three aforementioned actors are also amazing. Bailey has also appeared in Bridgerton and is now on the rise as a leading man in Hollywood thanks to his role in Wicked and the Wicked: For Good. Meanwhile, Ali is a two-time Oscar winner who hasn't appeared in that many movies in recent years, possibly because his MCU movie, Blade, keeps experiencing delays. Therefore, it will be great to see him in a major blockbuster like Jurassic World Rebirth, as well. Overall, the entire cast of Rebirth is exceptional.
5 Jurassic World Rebirth's Setting Will Recapture The Magic Of The Original Movie
Jurassic World Rebirth Will Mostly Be Set On An Island
While the first three Jurassic Park movies were all primarily set on remote islands, the Jurassic World films changed things up. The 2015 film is also set on an island, but its two sequels feature dinosaurs in different settings. While dinosaurs escaping their captivity on islands and making their way towards more densely populated areas seemed like a great idea, neither Fallen Kingdom nor Dominion executed it well. In fact, specifically in Dominion, it was very underwhelming to see dinosaurs roaming around major cities.

Jurassic World Rebirth Will Be The Best Jurassic Park Since The Original If It’s Brave Enough To Do What The Franchise Has Always Avoided
The original Jurassic Park trilogy was often unpredictable, but all of the Jurassic Park movies have avoided a twist that could have made them better.
Therefore, I'm glad that Jurassic World Rebirth will once again primarily be set on an island. The film will be set on the island that served as the research facility for the original Jurassic Park. As is stated in the trailers for the film, the dinosaurs on this island were deemed too dangerous for the original park. This means that the characters in Jurassic World Rebirth will encounter a lot of danger while on their mission to retrieve the DNA of several different dinosaur species.
4 Jurassic World Rebirth's Hybrid Dinosaur Looks Terrifying
Jurassic World Rebirth Will Introduce The D-Rex
In Jurassic World Rebirth, Johansson's Zora Bennett will lead a team to retrieve the DNA of the biggest dinosaurs of the land, air, and sea. However, they will likely not expect to encounter the new hybrid dinosaur which is teased in the trailers. Jurassic World Rebirth's hybrid dinosaur is known as the Distortus Rex, and was designed to resemble a Rancor from Star Wars and Xenomorph from the Alien franchise.
Hybrid dinosaurs are a unique concept that still have a lot of potential, so I can't wait to see what role the D-rex plays in Jurassic World Rebirth.
The trailers for Jurassic World Rebirth suggest that the D-rex could be the scariest dinosaur in the entire franchise. Since the previous hybrid dinosaurs in Jurassic World movies have been pretty forgettable, I'm glad that the D-rex has a unique design and a terrifying presence in Rebirth. Hybrid dinosaurs are a unique concept that still have a lot of potential, so I can't wait to see what role the D-rex plays in Jurassic World Rebirth.
3 The Most Iconic Dinosaurs From The Franchise Will Appear In Jurassic World Rebirth
The Dinosaurs In Jurassic World Rebirth Will Be Dangerous
In addition to the newly introduced D-rex, several of the most iconic dinosaurs from the franchise will make appearances in Jurassic World Rebirth. Just to name a few, a T-rex, spinosaurus', and raptors will all appear in the franchise's newest movie. These are obviously all welcome inclusions in Jurassic World Rebirth, since they are arguably the most memorable dinosaurs in the entire series. A spinosaurus, in particular, hasn't been seen since Jurassic Park III, so it will be amazing to see not just one, but multiple, in Rebirth.
I'm also so glad that T-rex's and raptors will once again be scary in Jurassic World Rebirth. The movie's aforementioned river chase scene proves that the T-rex will once again be portrayed as one of the most dangerous dinosaurs in the franchise. Additionally, after being portrayed as allies to characters like Owen Grady in the previous Jurassic World movies, raptors will also be portrayed as deadly, terrifying creatures in Rebirth. By including all these species, it is clear that Jurassic World Rebirth wants to honor the most notable dinosaurs from the franchise's past.
2 Jurassic World Rebirth Will Feature Multiple Amazing Action Set Pieces
The Action In Jurassic World Rebirth Looks Incredible
Jurassic Park is a franchise that has always blended both horror and action. Therefore, in addition to including many scary dinosaurs to amp up the movie's horror, Jurassic World Rebirth also needs a lot of action set pieces. Thankfully, the trailers for the film showcase many intense set pieces. Since it is inspired by a scene that was cut in the original Jurassic Park, the T-rex river chase sequence has obviously been getting a lot of attention. However, the trailers for Jurassic World Rebirth also include a lot of other unique and thrilling set pieces.

One Jurassic World Rebirth T-Rex Scene Is Surprisingly Scientifically Accurate & It Looks Incredible
Jurassic World Rebirth's T-rex swimming scene is actually scientifically accurate, which will make the anticipated sequence even scarier.
For example, while trying to obtain DNA from a quetzalcoatlus nest, the characters will have an intense encounter with the flying creature which will result in some of them hanging from a rope off a steep cliff. Additionally, the characters in Jurassic World Rebirth will be attacked by a mosasaurus and several spinosaurus' while on a boat, which will be a very dangerous and potentially deadly showdown. These are just a few of the set pieces teased for Jurassic World Rebirth, which will likely include many amazing action sequences.
1 Jurassic World Rebirth Will Start A New Era For The Franchise
Will Jurassic World Rebirth Set Up Future Movies?
Finally, I'm very excited for Jurassic World Rebirth since it will start a new era for the franchise. After two underwhelming Jurassic World movies, the franchise needs a huge win if it wants to continue. Based on the box office earnings of the last few films, it is clear that people still want new Jurassic World movies. However, the story of the last few films left a lot to be desired. Therefore, if Jurassic World Rebirth's story is a lot more interesting and reviews for the film are good, then the future of the series will look very bright.
Based on the trailers for the movie, I am confident that Jurassic World Rebirth will be a hit with both audiences and critics. Rebirth definitely looks a lot better than the last few movies in the franchise, which means that it truly can be the start of a new era. Hopefully, this new era continues to honor what worked so well in the first Jurassic Park movie. Therefore, I can't wait to see what the future of the franchise looks like after Jurassic World Rebirth.
