Talking to ScreenRant's Liam Crowley on the red carpet for her new movie Echo Valley, Julianne Moore was asked if she will be returning in Jurassic World Rebirth. She said she is "definitely not" in the installment and asked if she will return later on down the line, she said it's uncertain and not up to her. Read her full responses below:

Julianne Moore starred in The Lost World: Jurassic Park as Sarah Harding, an animal behaviorist and Dr. Ian Malcolm's girlfriend, who convinces him to embark on an adventure to Isla Sorna. However, Sarah's fate following The Lost World remains unknown, as she has not appeared or been mentioned in the franchise since, including in Jurassic Park III and the Jurassic World trilogy. This is somewhat surprising since Dr. Ian Malcolm, Laura Dern's Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Sam Neill's Dr. Alan Grant all returned in Jurassic World: Dominion.

It makes sense that Moore isn't returning in Rebirth since, right now, there are no characters known to be returning in the reboot, including Chris Pratt's Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard's Claire Dearing. Instead, Jurassic World Rebirth is introducing an all-new cast of characters. This includes Scarlett Johansson's Zora Bennett, an undercover agent who is enlisted by a pharmaceutical firm to forces with Jonathan Bailey's paleontologist, Dr. Henry Loomis, and Mahershala Ali's mission leader, Duncan Kincaid, on a highly classified operation on the restricted island of Ile Saint-Hubert.

This clean slate should allow Rebirth to redefine the franchise for a new generation, with original storylines, character arcs, and thematic depth that doesn't rely on familiar faces to carry the weight of the Jurassic legacy.
