Critically, the Jurassic World trilogy.

Even with its wobbly scientific accuracy with dinosaurs, Jurassic Park continues to endure as the gold standard for dinosaur movies. However, its five sequels would see varying degrees of success and an overall more mixed reception. Yet, no Jurassic Park or Jurassic World movie has been without its own memorable dinosaur action scenes or moments of general dino wonder. In the case of the Jurassic Park sequels, there are seven moments in particular that stand out the most in showcasing the majesty of dinosaurs with a similar astonishing quality as the original Jurassic Park did.

7 The Aviary - Jurassic Park III

A pteranodon attacks humans in Jurassic Park III

As Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Billy Brennan (Alessandro Nivola), and the Kirby family try to make their way off Isla Sorna, they come across an unexpected surprise when they wander into Site B's Aviary to encounter the Pteranodon family inside. Before the unduly hated Jurassic Park III, Pteranodons had only been seen briefly at the end of The Lost World, which made their full debut in Jurassic Park III one of the movie's highlights.

The action in the aviary is swift and exhilarating, while Billy makes one of the most daring decisions any character in the Jurassic Park franchise. The blend of CGI and animatronics is also very well-handled in bringing the Pteranodon family to life — particularly the hungry infants in the nest. With this memorable moment, Jurassic Park III literally leaves the door open for the Pteranodons to take flight in the series again.

6 The Velociraptors Speaking - Jurassic Park IIIDr. Alan Grant surrounded by the Raptor Pack in Jurassic Park III

The intelligence of Velociraptors has long been touted as one of their major traits, but Jurassic Park III makes the major revelation that Raptors can communicate with each other. Dr. Alan Grant's theory bears out when one Raptor calls out to its pack while in pursuit of the humans. The creatures' language heard in the first two Jurassic Park movies was cleverly re-purposed sound effects (from recordings of tortoise's mating) designed to reflect the complex Velociraptor language. While Jurassic Park III's much-derided talking Raptor in Alan's nightmare is still the stuff of memes, Jurassic Park III nonetheless delivered on the idea of Raptors communicating to make them even deadlier hunters.

5 Escape From Isla Nublar - Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

When Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom begins, Isla Nublar faces a massive volacanic eruption, leading Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) to organize a rescue operation for Jurassic World's surviving dinosaurs. Aside from being a strong action sequence on its own, the volcano's eruption in Fallen Kingdom is also the first time that the Jurassic Park or Jurassic World movies placed the dinosaurs in a situation akin to their original extinction event millions of years ago. Naturally, Jurassic Park's show-stealing dinosaur, the T-Rex, is also on hand to add some more visceral power to the sequence, and it is one of the major highlights of Fallen Kingdom

4 Eddie Saving The Trailers - The Lost World: Jurassic Park

A misunderstanding between The Lost World's human protagonists and a T-Rex family leads to the group's research trailer dangling over a cliff, with Eddie Carr (Richard Schiff) arriving to rescue his friends. Marking the point in The Lost World where the film's action starts to intensify, Eddie's trailer rescue is a great action scene heightened by the punishing rain and John Williams' heart-racing score. Sadly, Eddie's efforts lead to him being killed by the returning T-Rex, a sacrifice Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) acknowledges, making The Lost World's trailer set piece one of the most memorable acts of heroism in the Jurassic Park franchise.

3 The Pteranodons Escape - Jurassic World

As Jurassic World's new dinosaur creation, the Indominus Rex, wreaks havoc upon the park, the Pteranodon's aviary is inadvertently opened, setting them loose upon the park. Jurassic Park III's aforementioned aviary sequence might have finally brought the Pteranodons into action, but Jurassic World manages to completely top it with the swarm of Pteranodons set loose upon the park. ittedly, the demise of (Katie McGrath) does slightly mar the set piece, seemingly intended as a comeuppance for a character not deserving of one. That blemish aside, Jurassic World's Pteranodon sequence is still a lot of action-packed dino fun.

2 The Malta Chase - Jurassic World: Dominion

The motorcycle chase in Jurassic World Dominion

A dinosaur auction in Malta turns into a wild chase through the streets of the city in Jurassic World: Dominion, as a pack of Atrociraptors are unleashed, functioning as the set piece's pre-historic antagonists. One thing the Jurassic World movies have consistently excelled at is showcasing the velocity of Raptors previously teased in the original Jurassic Park, but Dominion's Malta chase takes it to a whole new level. Even with the humans evading them by motorcycle and truck, the Atrociraptors still easily keep up with them. Without a doubt, Dominion's Malta chase is one of the Jurassic Park franchise's greatest action sequences.

1 The T-Rex's Return - Jurassic World

After being defeated by the Spinosaurus in Jurassic Park III, the T-Rex makes a triumphant comeback to cinema screens in Jurassic World. After the T-Rex is kept mostly off-screen in Jurassic World, Claire Dearing frees the beast from its pen to stop the rampaging Indominus Rex, resulting in the T-Rex bursting through a Spinosaurus skeleton in a not-so-subtle rebuke to its earlier loss.

Jurassic World's dino smackdown of the T-Rex and the clever Velociraptor Blue battling the Indominus Rex is a great finale for the Jurassic Park franchise's return to cinemas, with the T-Rex fittingly closing out the film on one last victorious roar. With the Jurassic Park franchise having been on ice for 14 years up to this point, Jurassic World re-ignited the adventure of the franchise to widespread acclaim and a then-new opening weekend record. The movie's success perhaps distinguishes the finale of Jurassic World as the greatest dinosaur action scene among the Jurassic Park sequels, with the original T-Rex's comeback in Jurassic World being an essential element of its success.
