The main gameplay mechanic in Infinity Nikki is your Ability Outfits, so upgrading them is a top priority. The first few upgrades are pretty simple, but they get harder to obtain as you upgrade them further. Before upgrading your Ability Outfits, you need to unlock them in the Heart of Infinity and then craft them. You can upgrade your regular clothes as well through the Glow Up system.
Ability Outfits are key tools to float, purify enemies, fish, groom animals, collect bugs, and win challenges in Infinity Nikki. So, having the best version of these outfits will allow you to do all these things better. In the tutorial, you'll have obtained the Floating and Purifying Outfits in the Heart of Infinity, and this is where you'll find all the other Ability Outfit sketches as well. Soon after, you'll get some normal clothing pieces that can be upgraded through Glow Up, but you'll need to progress in the story quest to unlock Glow Up first.

How To Use Glow Up To Upgrade Outfits
Glow Up Your Clothes For Increased Stats
Using Glow Up in Infinity Nikki is the most basic way to upgrade your outfits. To use it, go to the Glow Up icon in your Pear-Pal, then choose the outfit you want to upgrade. This menu shows which materials and how much Bling you'll need to boost your clothing piece. Some of these resources can be gathered through the many redeem codes that are active currently.
After my second Style Faction challenge, I unlocked the Glow Up feature, though I'm not certain that's what triggered it.
This is simple enough and will boost the scores of whichever items you upgrade, making them more effective in Style Faction challenges and other competitions. If you're having trouble collecting enough resources to Glow Up everything you'd like, you should also make sure you're upgrading your Ability Outfits and your traditional clothes. You can do this by going to the Heart of Infinity.
How Upgrading Ability Outfits Works In Infinity Nikki
You Can Upgrade And Evolve Ability Outfits For Different Effects
The Heart of Infinity in Infinite Nikki is the equivalent of most games' skill tree. Here, you'll unlock and boost new skills you can use on your travels in Miraland. As mentioned above, the Floating and Purifying Outfits will already be unlocked, so you can upgrade them as soon as you meet the qualifications.

Is Infinity Nikki Free-To-Play?
Infinity Nikki is listed as free-to-play, but many things make this cozy adventure a bit more complicated, and possibly costly, than that.
Before you can upgrade any Ability Outfits, you must first gain a certain level of competency in that outfit's skill. You increase your Insight by using the skill, so thankfully, it happens ively. The next time you collect a bug, groom an animal, or fish, watch in the bottom left of the screen to see yourself awarded an Insight point for that skill. To get the first upgrade for most of the outfits, you'll need 300 Insight points for their respective skill.
Later upgrades will, of course, take more Insight and Whimstars. You're going to need to keep collecting these things through the course of the game, but thankfully, they're everywhere. Whether or not you prioritize upgrading your outfits in Infinity Nikki, they're important, so even just upgrading only the ones you use the most can really help you out.
