It was previously reported that Hewitt and Prinze were in negotiations to reprise their roles. I Know What You Did Last Summer Reboot Can Finally Use The Book's Original Killer Twist

I Know What You Did Last Summer changed the novel's victim and killer, but the legacy sequel can finally do justice to the book and use them.

For its new younger stars, the reboot has cast Mendes, known as Sarah Cameron on Outer Banks. Both Mendes and Cline are stars from teen drama series, so they should be able to make a seamless transition to I Know What You Did Last Summer, a teen slasher. The reboot has also cast Hauer-King, known for playing Prince Eric in the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.

Mendes previously collaborated with director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson on Do Revenge.

Pidgeon, while lesser known, isn't any less talented than the rest of the cast, as she is a Tony Award nominee who has played roles in Prime Video's The Wilds and Hulu's Tiny Beautiful Things. Withers has appeared in one episode of FX's Atlanta. The original I Know What You Did Last Summer was written by Scream creator Kevin Williamson, and they are clearly modeling the reboot after 2022's Scream, featuring a combination of up-and-coming actors and original cast .
