Many bosses in Lies of P are large, frenzied puppet automatons that rage across the city of Krat, but the Door Guardian represents a mutated human transformed by the Petrification Curse that you have to beat. The hulking form of this enemy wields a massive crystal in one of its hands, along with several powerful lightning attacks. The Door Guardian, thankfully, has some apparent weaknesses that you can target to gain an advantage.

The Door Guardian is not an optional boss but a direct obstacle as you approach the Arche Abbey Entrance. Similar to the Scrapped Watchman fight in Lies of P, you might want to wear gear that resists Electric damage to have some protection against the Guardian's attacks. Make sure to use your collected Ergo or Quartz to level up and purchase P-Organ upgrades at Hotel Krat before challenging this boss.

Bosses are, in most cases, the most challenging aspect of any game, and Lies of P is no different. That being said, some Lies of P bosses are OP.

Best Weapons & Items to Fight The Door Guardian

Lies of P Pinocchio Using Motivity Stat to Wield Strength Weapons to One-Shot Enemies in OP Build

One of the strongest tools to use against the Door Guardian is the Bone-Cutting Saw, a Motivity weapon in Lies of P with far more reach than you might expect. The devastating attacks this boss can use against you don't have range, working best when you are close to it. By shaving off some distance between you and the Door Guardian with the Blade part from the Saw, you have a better chance at landing your attacks without retaliation.

Many weapons have two significant parts that provide different Fable Art effects, both the Blade and Handle. Unless a weapon is a special tool made from a boss' Rare Ergo, you can customize your combat instrument by mixing and matching various parts that you collect.

The best Legion Arms to equip against this boss are the Puppet String or Aegis to give you greater mobility or defense. The Puppet String allows you to stand further away from the Guardian before pulling Pinocchio up close at the perfect opportunity to get some quick attacks before retreating again. Meanwhile, the Aegis gives you a shield in Lies of P with a better chance of reducing the damage dealt by the boss' strikes if you get hit.

Make sure to bring plenty of Thermite and Destruction Grindstones when planning to fight the Door Guardian. The boss takes more damage from fire attacks, making the throwable Thermite a great item to use as you take on this enemy. Grindstones will increase your stagger damage, allowing you to exploit a distinct weakness in the Guardian's design that makes it vulnerable to certain attacks in Lies of P.

How to Defeat The Door Guardian

Lies of P Defeating the Door Guardian in Boss Fight with Specific Weapon Parts and Legion Arm

The best way to take down the Door Guardian is to quickly dodge around the boss, use heavy attacks when it recovers from attacks, and aim for its weak points. When you begin the fight, you'll notice that Pinocchio can lock onto either the main body or both legs of the Guardian in Lies of P. Enough hits to the legs act as a stagger during this fight, dropping the boss to the ground for a strong Fatal attack after those body parts take enough damage.

You can not summon a Specter to help you against the Door Guardian, making this a boss fight you must face alone instead of with a powerful ally.

Attack

Description

How to Beat

Stomp

One foot of the Door Guardian is raised before stomping into the ground.

This attack covers a wide area around the boss' foot. Dodge in the opposite direction of whichever leg is being raised up to avoid the Stomp.

Double Fist Slam

The boss clasps both fists together before smashing them in the direction of Pinocchio.

Dodge behind the Guardian since this attack only hits in a space directly in front of the boss.

Jumping Smash

The Guardian leaps into the air before striking a spot in front of them with a single fist.

You could simply dodge to one side to get away from the smash, but this can be hard to time with the jump causing a delay in the attack timing. Instead, run forward while not locked on to the boss to get under them, letting you get some quick follow-up hits.

Right Hook

A normal punch usually comes from the boss' right hand.

Block the attack or dodge it if Pinocchio's health is fairly low.

Uppercut

An attack that starts from below the Guardian's body before swinging upward very quickly.

As the boss pulls back their arm, dodge backward before the quick uppercut can be performed.

Sweeping Strikes

The boss drags both of their fists across the ground in a sweeping motion, damaging you if you get in the way.

You are able to block multiple attacks in this sequence or actively guard if you have a specific Legion Arm in Lies of P.

Body Slam

Glowing red for a Fury Attack, the Guardian throws its body onto the ground and knocks over Pinocchio if you are too close.

This attack causes a lot of stagger if you get hit, leading to follow-up strikes that the boss can easily hit for big damage. You either need to run out of the Body Slam's range or perform a Perfect Guard to fully counter the attack.

Roll

The Guardian wraps itself into a ball before rolling around the area to a new position, damaging anything that crosses its path.

Stay far away from the boss during this attack and wait for a window to attack once it finishes repositioning itself somewhere else.

The Door Guardian's attacks are very slow, making it one of the rare bosses that lets you perform heavy attacks fairly easily. Many of the boss' attacks are laced with electricity that could cause the Shock condition, a debuff that slowly drains your Stamina over time. Those looking to beat the Door Guardian in Lies of P need to watch their resources and exercise caution to win.
