Foldabody Is A Quirk With Nigh-Unlimited Potential

Edgeshot’s Special Power Is Both Strong and Versatile

Foldabody is a Quirk that allows the the ability to stretch and fold their body like paper or string, according to the 's intent. Edgeshot was famous for utilizing this skill to make his entire body as thin as a sheet of paper to move quickly, attack opponents, or simply navigate through narrow spaces. Edgeshot uses a variety of skills and attacks inspired by ninja, which earned him the moniker "the Ninja Hero". One example is his ultimate move "Thousand Sheet Pierce", where Shinya turns himself into a pointed string and then pierces his enemies, cutting off their blood flow to knock them unconscious

Nonetheless, there was a limit as to how much Edgeshot could alter his physical form before his ability began to damage him. Past a certain point, Shinya’s life force would start to be drained by his Quirk. This was better seen during episode 150 of the anime series, in which the Number 4 hero pushed himself past his limits to perform "Thousand Sheet Pierce: Zenith".

My Hero Academia: Edgeshot uses his Foldabody Quirk on Kurogiri.

He then used this new form to stitch Bakugo’s heart and chest injuries, caused by an enraged Shigaraki, and save one of Japan's future protectors. This caused severe damage to Edgeshot, transforming his body into a miniature version of itself, as seen in chapter 428 of the manga series.

The Anime Depicted Foldabody In An Outstanding Manner

The Scenes Of Edgeshot Saving Bakugo Are Much More Detailed

Bakugo lays injured as Edgeshot closes his wounds.

During episode 150 of the My Hero Academia anime, fans could see the adaptation of chapters 364 and 365. The entry includes various moments of Edgeshot transforming himself into a razor-thin thread to close Bakugo’s wounds. By utilizing the advantages of animation over static drawings, the talented artists at Studio Bones gave fans an accurate and detailed representation of these events. The scenes depicted by the animation studio are vibrant, with an alarming red color to represent the situation's urgency.

The fluidity of the scene also greatly helps viewers understand the level of control Edgeshot has over his Quirk, moving as slowly and carefully as possible, to avoid hurting Katsuki even more. The intricate motion of Shinya’s Quirk in action not only perfectly encapsulates the severity of Bakugo’s condition and gives fans one of the most intriguing moments in the entire anime series. It is one of the iconic moments of the original manga that has been enhanced by the anime in many ways.

Edgeshot may not be among the most popular My Hero Academia characters, but his contributions to the story are nothing to be scoffed at. The anime adaptation helped this underrated hero’s best moment shine even more. By creating such an impressive scene, the long-awaited return of Bakugo to the battlefield will be much more enjoyable and iconic.
