An Andor star has been added to the House of the Dragon season 2 ended on a cliffhanger as both sides prepared for the Battle of the Gullet, which will be seen in season 3.

According to Variety, Joplin Sibtain, who plays Brasso in Andor, has been cast as Ser "Bold" Jon Roxton in House of the Dragon season 3. The character is a knight and the head of House Roxton who fights with the greens during the Dance of Dragons. Season 3 has also added Downton Abbey star Tom Cullen to play Ser Luthor Largent and Sandman's Barry Sloane as Ser Adrian Redfort.

What This Means For House Of The Dragon Season 3

Joplin Sibtain's Character Will Not Be Like Brasso

Brasso is a fan-favorite character in Andor seasons 1 and 2, with Sibtain's performance cementing him as the ultimate friend who is ive, loyal, and will stand up for what is right. The popularity of Andor, which is widely hailed as the all-time best Star Wars show, means that Sibtain is now primarily associated with playing the heroic Brasso. This will make it intriguing to see him play a character fighting for the greens, who are largely seen as House of the Dragon's villains.

Sibtain, Cullen, and Sloane other newcomers to House of the Dragon season 3's cast, including James Norton as Ormund Hightower, Tommy Flanagan as Lord Roderick Dustin, and Dan Fogler as Torrhen Manderly. With House Hightower being on the side of the greens, Sibtain and Norton's characters may interact and have scenes together as they serve the greens. Their stories may be able to shed some light on what happened to Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans), who was last seen imprisoned at the end of season 2.

Our Take On House Of The Dragon Casting Joplin Sibtain

It Will Be Exciting, But Jarring To See His House Of The Dragon Character

With Brasso being one of my favorite Andor characters, and season 2 being the end of the critically acclaimed Star Wars series, I am thrilled that he will be ing House of the Dragon season 3. It will probably be jarring to see him play Roxton, not only because of the character's loyalties, but because he is known for his temper, which will be a stark contrast to Brasso. This latest casting addition makes me even more eager to see the Dance of Dragons continue to unfold when season 3 returns in 2026.
