Latest News on My Hero Academia Season 7
My Hero Academia season 7 was announced on March 25, 2023, following the airing of the final episode of season 6. No details were revealed about it other than that it was entering production. On December 16, 2023, it was announced via X (formerly known as Twitter) that My Hero Academia season 7 would have a release date of May 4, 2024. This announcement was accompanied by the first trailer in Japan, which was ed to YouTube.
My Hero Academia Season 7 Trailer
The first preview trailer showcases some iconic moments from the manga that fans might instantly recognize, confirming that season 7 will be adapting a significant portion of the Final War arc. The trailer showcases both the students of Class 1-A and the League of Villains. Deku has been brought back into the fold, and the team are still operating out of the fortified UA. It also provides a spotlight for the new character of Star and Stripe, who is shown preparing to battle against Shigaraki/All for One.
The Story of My Hero Academia Season 7
Assuming the anime follows the manga, My Hero Academia season 7 will open with what's known as the Star and Stripe arc, following the American character who was introduced at the tail end of the sixth season, Star and Stripe. From there, the story progresses into its last arc, My Hero Academia's Final War arc, chronicling the ultimate clash between heroes and villains, deciding the fate of Japan and quite likely the world.
The Final War arc is currently ongoing in the manga and has yet to conclude, so it's unknown whether season 7 will cover the Final War arc in full or if it will only adapt a portion of the arc, with the rest left up to a potential season 8.
The Characters of My Hero Academia Season 7
Naturally, all of fans' favorite students and pro heroes will be returning in season 7, and many have a significant role to play in the Final War. Most important, though, is the introduction of the new character seen at the end of season 6, Star and Stripe. Star and Stripe is America's #1 hero, who has gone against orders to head to Japan and lend aid to All Might, who was a hero of hers during his time in America. Star and Stripe is incredibly powerful, with a Quirk that's able to let her do nearly anything she can imagine, making her inclusion exciting.
My Hero Academia Season 7 Release Date
Historically, a season of My Hero Academia takes a little over a year of production time, with the new season debuting almost a year after the previous season ended. A release window of "Spring 2024" was announced, and that was later clarified with My Hero Academia season 7's official release date: May 4, 2024.
Because the Final War arc of the manga has yet to be concluded, it's also difficult to estimate the number of episodes that season 7 is planned to have. It will likely have at least as many as previous seasons, 25, but if there isn't enough content left for an eighth season, season 7 could be extended.
