"[Bringing Warhammer to life] is a dream come true, but it's different from what I've done before, in the sense I haven't had my hand on the tiller of things before. It's wonderful doing that. It is a tricky IP, and a very complex IP, and that's what I love about it. The challenges that come with putting this on the page in a way that is doing justice to that complexity, that trickiness, and that nuance, is a challenge I'm enjoying enormously."
What Henry Cavill's Quote About Warhammer 40k Means
Audiences' Patience Will Pay Off In The Long Run
Warhammer 40k is a beloved IP, but with a plethora of games, books, and more to draw from, finding the right way in is a challenge. Unlike The Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter, the source material for this franchise doesn't offer a singular, centralized narrative to adapt. There are hundreds of novels to pull from, and weeding through all that and condensing the material into a TV season would be a daunting task for anyone who isn't wholly devoted to Warhammer. The fact that Cavill and his team are doing this is a positive sign.

Henry Cavill's Highlander Reboot Gets A Major Release Update From Director
After years of planning, Henry Cavill's debut as Connor MacLeod in the new Highlander reboot gets a major release update from director Chad Stahelski.
While streaming services are rushing into fantasy/sci-fi IP in an attempt to bring subscribers over as quickly as possible, Cavill's Warhammer 40k looks to be a labor of love. Fans of the title who have been waiting for years will likely have to wait years more, as he's got roles in Enola Holmes 3, the Guy Ritchie movie In the Grey, and other projects like Highlander that would likely be developed before Warhammer. This just means more time to get the story right before filming begins.
Our Take On Henry Cavill's Warhammer 40k Show
Warhammer 40k Is Exactly What Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Needs
After The Wheel of Time's cancellation and the fates of many other fantasy projects being in question, Hollywood needs a ionate ambassador for the genre more than ever. I trust that Henry Cavill wants to do right by this series, and I'm hoping that seeing Warhammer 40k executed properly will lead to other shows like it. I might be getting ahead of myself, but everything Cavill reveals about the project indicates that it will be a tremendous success, and I'm excited for its broader implications on the genre.
