The first image has been revealed for HAVOC features a leading cast including Tom Hardy, Timothy Olyphant, Forest Whitaker, Luis Guzmán, Xelia Mendes-Jones, and Narges Rashidi. HAVOC is written and directed by Gareth Evans. The film does not yet have a release date.

Per Empire, the first image has been released for HAVOC. The image shows Hardy's character in the center of the frame, in a dimly-lit environment with neon fluorescent light strips in the background. Though Hardy looks forward, he wards off a potential assailant at his side, who seems to wince in pain. HAVOC Looks To Have Interesting Stylization

While the HAVOC image does little by way of revealing the plot for Evans' action movie, it does show some of the visual style of the film. The environment around Hardy appears to be some sort of nightclub or similarly lively environment. While this kind of atmosphere could exist just for one scene, the neon lighting creates an interesting contrast and stylization for the scene. If the rest of HAVOC follows suit, the film's action could be surrounded by an interesting visual language.

While the report on HAVOC did not unveil the film's release date, it did confirm that the film will release on Netflix in 2025. Director Evans spoke on the film, calling it a "fast-paced action-thriller with nods to the Hong Kong cinema that [he] grew up watching." He also promised that HAVOC "will deliver on the action front," as the first look image teases. Evans also teased Hardy's role specifically, saying he gives "an intensely muscular central performance, and a really well-developed character."

The combination of Evans' statements and the first-look image inspires more confidence in HAVOC. From Locke to The Drop, Hardy is an actor who has shown time and time again that he has what it takes to be an actor who not only leads but carries a film. It sounds like the actor is tasked with that again in HAVOC. If the film is as action-packed as the director promises, Hardy will be in his sweet spot with HAVOC.
