After a long drought of information, we're starting to learn more details about GTA 6's story. Some of these can be glimpsed in the game's two trailers, but Rockstar Games also recently shared some new character profiles on their website. These profiles include some interesting details about the game's characters that could hint at small and major story moments.

The site gives us more insight into our dual protagonists, Jason and Lucia, as well as some of their ing cast . I'll it, despite the extreme hype around GTA 6, I wasn't all that excited about the game until now. However, learning more about the characters and seeing some of the locations in the game have gotten me a lot more excited to see where the story goes, and these new hints could provide some insight.

10 Cal's Conspiracy Theories Could Cause Trouble

Cal Is Described As Paranoid

GTA 6's second trailer only gave us a quick glimpse at Jason's friend Cal Hampton, but Rockstar's website gives us some more details about him. It seems pretty clear from his description that Cal is a bit of a conspiracy theorist, with the site using choice quotes like "what if everything on the internet was true" and "there are way too many birds flying around in perfect formation." It is very possible that Cal's "casual paranoia" could lead to some issues for either him or GTA 6's protagonists.

Lindsay Lohan Suing Rockstar Games Over GTA 5 Was A Cultural Moment Even GTA 6 Can't Top

GTA 6 already has a lot of publicity, but it probably won't be the subject of any high-profile legal cases like Lindsay Lohan's lawsuit against GTA 5.

There is a trend in postmodern literature that a paranoid character like Cal turns out to be right to some extent. It is very possible that GTA 6 could do something similar and have Cal stumble onto an actual conspiracy that impacts the story. This could potentially be helpful and warn the characters about something that's about to happen, or it could get them tangled up in something much bigger than they ever planned to be a part of.

9 Influencers Will Be A Target Of Rockstar's Satire

The Real Dimez And Viral Videos Indicate Social Media Will Play A Role

We've seen through GTA 6's first trailer that online culture is going to play some role in the game. We see plenty of viral videos from across Leonida that help paint a picture of life in this heightened version of Florida. GTA 6's site also introduces a pair of influencers, Bae-Luxe and Roxy, who go by the moniker Real Dimez. With two influencers being a big enough part of the cast to make the site, it only makes sense that the game will devote some time to commenting on influencer culture.

Given GTA 5's satirical depiction of Hollywood celebrities, I'm guessing that influencers aren't going to have it any easier this time around. We'll likely see some not-so-subtle jabs at influencers and the type of content they put out in GTA 6. Hopefully the game's extended development cycle doesn't mean that its social commentary is stale by the time it comes out.

8 GTA 6 Has Its Own Dutch Van Der Linde

Raul Bautista Bears Striking Resemblance To RDR2's Dutch

Another new face in GTA 6 is strangely familiar. Raul Bautista is an experienced bank robber who puts together crews for jobs. According to GTA 6's site, he is reckless and constantly trying for bigger and more dangerous scores. This, coupled with his slicked-back medium-length hair and mustache, conjures up images of another over-confident criminal from Rockstar's catalog.

Raul Bautista is almost a dead ringer for Red Dead Redemption 2's Dutch Van der Linde. Dutch was similarly reckless and often got his crew into trouble. Hopefully, Jason and Lucia aren't quite as loyal to Raul as Arthur was to Dutch, so we can avoid playing along with his schemes when they get too dangerous. Of course, this is a GTA game, so hoping that the protagonists make safe and responsible decisions is probably off the table anyway.

7 Vice City's Music Scene Will Play A Big Role In GTA 6

Over Half Of The NPCs Previewed Are Involved In The Music Scene

Aside from Jason and Lucia, GTA 6's site lists details about seven other characters. Of those characters, four of them are in some way connected to the music business. Besides being influencers, the Real Dimez are also up-and-coming musicians in Vice City. Dre'Quan Priest is a former dealer who is now managing the Real Dimez and working with Boobie Ike, the owner of a recording studio, among other ventures.

GTA 6 Recreated In GTA 5 Shows Off A World Of Gorgeous Improvements

Over on Reddit, Noru122 has recreated some screenshots from the GTA 6 Trailer 2 in GTA 5, and the comparison shows how much better GTA 6 looks.

With so many of the game's notable NPCs having ties to the music industry, it seems inevitable that Vice City's music scene will play a role in the story somehow. With Jason supposedly wanting to get out of the criminal lifestyle and pursue an easier life, getting involved in music could seem like an attractive alternative. This could be how he and Lucia find themselves mixed up with the Real Dimez, Boobie, and Dre'Quan.

6 Jason Has Some Connection To The Police

There Are Multiple Hints Jason Could Be Working With Police

Since GTA 6's second trailer dropped, there have been some theories floating around that Jason is an undercover police officer. Although I'm not fully convinced that he is, I wouldn't be surprised if Jason has some sort of connection to law enforcement. One thing that stands out to me is the guard at the prison asking if he'd seen Jason around there before, and Jason saying, "maybe." This could imply that he's had to pick up Lucia before, but it could also be that he was sent there on another assignment.

There is also a hard cut in the trailer from a character saying "us cops, we got to protect each other," to a clip of Jason. In film editing, there is something called the Kuleshov effect that describes how the meaning of a shot is changed by what happens right before it. This quick edit, from talking about cops to a shot of Jason, implies that he could be a police officer due to this effect.

GTA 6's site also says that Jason wants an easy life and a new start, so he may see working with the police to cut some kind of deal as his way out. He's ex-military, so this could explain why the police would be more willing to work with him. It could also explain why a boat similar to Michael's is seen outside Jason's house at the beginning. Maybe this isn't literally saying he stole Michael's boat, but instead an allusion to the fact that Jason is working with law enforcement to cut a deal like Michael did.

5 I'm Worried About Brian Heder's Safety

Brian Seems Like He Could Be Jason And Lucia's Mentor, A Dangerous Role In Stories

Brian Heder is Jason's landlord who lets him stay for free in exchange for Jason shaking down Brian's other tenants for rent. Although Brian doesn't seem like the nicest guy around, him letting Jason stay for free implies that he might be softer than his rough exterior lets on. Brian is also a seasoned drug runner who is largely out of the game at this point, preferring to offload any dangerous work to someone else. He will likely be someone who gives out missions and acts as a sort of mentor to Jason and Lucia.

Unfortunately, older mentor figures don't always have the best track record in fiction. Brian seems like the perfect character to kill off when Jason and Lucia start getting in over their heads. This would be the perfect way to raise the stakes, so I might advise not getting too attached to Brian.

4 GTA 6 Will Have A Prologue Similar To GTA 5

Jason Has Two Distinct Looks In Trailer 2

GTA 5 starts out with a flashback to an earlier job that Michael and Trevor worked together. Looking at the trailer for GTA 6, it seems as though there may be something similar. In the early parts of the trailer, Jason has hair sticking out of his cap. His hair stays this long through the scene where he assaults the cashier. However, once Jason picks Lucia up from jail, and in every scene that takes place after, he has a short buzz cut.

What GTA 6's New Release Date Means For A Potential Red Dead Redemption 3

With Grand Theft Auto 6’s release date change, fans may be wondering when Red Dead Redemption 3 will now launch. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look good.

1

This indicates that the earlier scenes from the prologue could take place before the rest of the game. It might show us how Jason and Lucia met, or how Lucia ended up in prison. I can't be sure about the exact timeline or events, but I am pretty confident in saying that these longer-haired Jason scenes are part of a prologue.

3 Jason And Lucia May Need To Get Out Of Vice City For Some Time

Several Of Leonida's Other Locations Would Be Good Places To Hide

GTA 6's site doesn't just give details about specific characters, but it also gives some more general information about NPCs outside of Vice City. The section on Mount Kalaga, for instance, describes the people who live there as "hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals." There's also descriptions of Port Gellahorn, a rundown former vacation spot on the opposite coast from Vice City, and Grassrivers which is GTA's version of the Everglades. With so many other locations with unique personalities attributed to their residents, it seems as though the game will take place across the entire state of Leonida.

One easy explanation for why GTA 6's characters won't be in Vice City the entire time could be because they need to escape the heat of a job gone wrong. This wouldn't be too dissimilar to Red Dead Redemption 2, moving the player from one location to the next as the Van der Linde gang looks for somewhere safe to stay. Port Gellahorn and Mount Kalaga sound like the type of places people might go to disappear, which could be exactly why Jason and Lucia end up there.

2 Sorry Everyone, But "Mud Girl" Probably Isn't Important

"Mud Girl" Made Waves Online, But Likely Won't In The Game

Following GTA 6's first trailer, there was some buzz online about a character that some fans dubbed "Mud Girl." Mud Girl is a young woman in a bikini at a mud rally who sticks her tongue out at the camera. She's only in a short shot from the trailer, but she became a source of speculation online, especially when fans latched onto the idea that she could be Michael's daughter, Tracey, from GTA 5.

We've now gotten more details about the cast of GTA 6, and Mud Girl isn't mentioned, nor is she in the second trailer. The section on Ambrosia also shows several women dressed in identical outfits to Mud Girl, so it is seemingly a popular outfit there. To top it off, Michael's voice actor, Ned Luke, seemingly shut down the Tracey theory on social media, though it's unclear how much background information he has on the game.

1 Older GTA Characters Could Show Up Or Be Referenced

There Are A Lot Of Possible Connections To Old GTA Characters And Locations

Although I'm not sold on the Tracey theory either, and I'm pretty sure that's not Michael's boat in Jason's yard, I still wouldn't be surprised to get some cameos by characters from previous GTA games. We already saw who could possibly be Phil Cassidy in the second trailer, but there are more background details that could hint at other connections. Lucia is from Liberty City, so she may have some connections to characters we met in GTA 4. The section on Ambrosia also mentions biker gangs, which could also mean GTA 4: The Lost And Damned connections.

GTA 6: 8 Most Impressive Technical Leaps Between The Two Trailers

Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to break new ground in a number of categories, and the second trailer shows huge technical leaps from the first trailer.

With GTA 5 having such a long life cycle, I would be a little surprised if we saw too many characters from it making cameos in GTA 6. Still, there could be more subtle references to the previous GTA gang, maybe through shared celebrities or products. I wouldn't expect an overabundance of cameos though, as GTA 6 is likely meant to stand on its own.
