Ghosts Season 3 Star Reacts To The Heartbreaking Truth Behind Hetty's Death

The article contains spoilers for Ghosts season 3, episode 10, "Isaac's Wedding."

Summary

  • In the Ghosts season 3 finale, Isaac faces consequences for his actions, like leaving someone at the altar and being persnickety.
  • Actor Brandon Scott Jones sees Isaac's struggles as learning opportunities for his messy character.
  • Jones hopes Isaac will have to atone for his behavior in season 4.

Ghosts star Brandon Scott Jones offers his perspective on the massive season 3 cliffhanger involving Isaac. Though it was meant to be a happy finale, with Isaac set to marry fellow spirit Nigel (played by John Hartman), Isaac called off the wedding at the last minute because he didn't feel ready. To make matters worse, the season 3 finale concluded with Isaac facing off against someone from his past.

In an interview with Deadline, Jones opened up about the cliffhanger involving Patience the Puritan and what it could mean for Isaac heading into Ghosts season 4. The actor reflected on the fact that Isaac was seemingly abducted by Patience, sharing his view on why the character he plays got what he deserved. Read the quote below:

The easiest way to describe it is that it feels like Isaac gets what he deserves, because he left this woman literally in the dirt. Then he recently left this man at the altar. He was, even in this episode, just a little persnickety with Sam the entire time. He’s a messy, messy dude that has a lot to figure out. Anytime he’s called out on his bulls--t, or he has to pay the price for some of the things that he does, I think it’s a good moment because it’s funny, hopefully. But also, hopefully, he’ll be able to either learn or at least figure something else out. I don’t know what’s going to happen. I have no idea where this is gonna go, but I hope he does have to atone for something.

Patience The Puritan Has Not Gotten Over What Isaac Did To Her

Isaac Will Have To For His Actions In Ghosts Season 4.

Patience is not over the fact that Isaac left her in a hole, even if it was done by accident.

After the Ghosts character starts to develop a serious crush on a living person, Isaac realizes that his relationship with Nigel isn't as solid as he once might have believed. Despite the breakup, Nigel takes the news well enough. But in the closing moments of season 3, in the episode written by Lauren Bridges and John Timothy, the fallout from Isaac's canceled wedding proves to have serious ramifications.

Upset that they weren't invited to the wedding, the basement ghosts lure Isaac into a trap that allows Patience to capture him. The basement ghosts are surprised, apparently not expecting Patience to go that far. In the scene just before, Flower (Sheila Carrasco) explains that she had a friendship with Patience while trapped in the well. Flower goes on to say that Patience is obsessed with Isaac.

Patience is not over the fact that Isaac left her in a hole, even if it was done by accident. It fits into Isaac's self-centered character trait, as the actor who plays him describes. Although it's safe to bet that he'll eventually be with his group, his story with Patience is only just beginning to take shape. Based on the comments from Jones and the Ghosts showrunners, it will be a significant part of the show's future.

Ghosts is available to stream on Paramount+.
