New Skirk’s kit in Genshin Impact 5.7.

The next update’s leaks have also shown details about Dahlia’s gameplay kit, highlighting that he will be a 4-star Hydro character in charge of creating shields for his team, which replenish themselves if they are broken. Even though the Version 5.7 leaks are the most reliable, since they stem directly from the ongoing beta tests, there have been leaks about future patches. There have already been some mentions about the lack of new characters in Genshin Impact 5.8, for example, though this has yet to be confirmed. Now, some of the leaks are looking further into the game’s future.

Varka May Only Become Playable In Late Genshin Impact 6.X Updates

A New Leak Suggests He Will Not Become Playable In Version 6.0

Genshin Impact's Varka, Barbatos, and Alice are featured in a stained-glass .

According to information provided by the leaker known as DK2 and republished by HXG, Varka’s release as a playable character may only occur in the late Version 6.X updates, as opposed to it happening in Versions 6.0 or 6.1, for example. The information was shared by Inventeer in a post flagged as “Questionable” on Varka’s design in Genshin Impact through the Archon Quest added with Version 5.6.

I Regret Not Pulling For This Broken Genshin Impact Character After Nearly Two Years, & Now It May Be Too Late

I skipped Furina’s banners, believing I already had characters that fulfilled her roles in Genshin Impact, and I deeply regret the decision I made.

So far, the developer has not teased Varka as a playable character, but his name has long been mentioned in the adventure, dating back to the game’s release in 2020. This is because Varka is the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius; Jean is currently the Acting Grand Master, as Varka is absent from Mondstadt. Extra details about Varka have been revealed during the aforementioned Archon Quest, leading to the understanding that the Traveler will meet him once they arrive in Nod-Krai in Genshin Impact, but that has had no impact on the status of his speculated playable version.

Players May Meet Varka As Early As Genshin Impact 6.0

The Character Will Likely Become An Ally In Nod-Krai

The latest information about Varka, aside from the teaser about his design, is that he is headed to Nod-Krai. Given the status of his expedition, it’s very likely that players will finally meet Varka in the region after years of hearing about his name and reputation. Because of Varka’s significance to the story and the fact that he’s headed to Nod-Krai, it’s very likely that he will be one of the Traveler’s first allies within the mysterious region. I find it very possible for him to be introduced as an NPC as early as the release of Genshin Impact 6.0

If Varka does become one of the Traveler’s fixed allies during their time in Nod-Krai, the odds that he will become playable during that year of content are fairly high, as this has been the case with most regional characters so far. While he may debut in Version 6.0 as an NPC, however, there is also a high chance that the leak is right, and that Varka will only become playable in later 6.X updates. This has happened in the past with several characters. Recently, players met Mavuika in Genshin Impact 5.0, but her playable release happened in Version 5.3.

In the Fontaine story arc, Arlecchino started as a constant presence in Version 4.1, for example, and was only released much later, in Version 4.6. Before that, in Sumeru, players met Alhaitham in Version 3.0, and the scholar became one of the Traveler’s first allies. In counterpoint, however, Alhaitham was only released as a playable unit in Version 3.4. As such, it would make perfect sense for the leak to be correct, indicating that Varka could become an NPC in Version 6.0, and only be released in Version 6.4 or later, for example.

Even so, this does provide players with a better release window for Varka in Genshin Impact.

If the leak is accurate, players can start to expect Varka as a playable unit at some point in early 2026. Considering that Version 6.0’s release will likely occur in September and that each patch lasts the regular six weeks, a Version 6.4 release in late February does not seem too out of the realm of possibility for HoYoverse – though his release may be anticipated to Version 6.3 or pushed into Version 6.5 to avoid some overlap with any possible new Lantern Rite characters in Genshin Impact next year.

What We Know About Varka In Genshin Impact (So Far)

The Grand Master Of The Knights Of Favonius Is A Well-Humored Individual

Not much is truly known about Varka aside from the information that has been provided by the game. As was previously mentioned, Varka is the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, and he also takes on the role of Knight of Boreas within the institution. Varka is responsible for bringing Rosaria and Razor to Mondstadt and for adding Eula to the ranks of the guild. Prior to the Traveler’s arrival, he set off on an expedition with nearly the entire Knights of Favonius forces in Genshin Impact.

New Genshin Impact 5.7 leaks show Dahlia is getting a buff to his shields, but that may not be enough to save the character from his fated doom.

During his expedition, Varka also went to Natlan to converse with Mavuika, but had a drinking contest with her, which he lost; this occurred before the Traveler’s arrival in the Nation of Pyro. Varka had also met with Capitano before the Fatui Harbinger was dispatched to Natlan. One of Varka’s main deeds is having direct with Barbatos, or Venti. He has requested that the Anemo Archon establish a Tripartite Conference with the Hexenzirkel, and the group of witches has agreed to help Mondstadt, if it is ever needed.

During the recent Archon Quest, Venti tries to call the Hexenzirkel, but it is Varka who picks up. The Grand Master misunderstands the reason for the call, believing that the Anemo Archon is asking about drinks, and the connection ends. Overall, it seems like Varka is an empathic and well-humoured individual, despite the seriousness of his role. The design teaser shows he has white skin and blond hair, wearing a large coat. As players venture into Nod-Krai, I’m certain we’ll learn more about Varka in Genshin Impact, even before he becomes playable.
