Although I didn’t believe we’d see Skirk’s auto-target mechanic in Genshin Impact 5.7.

The leaks have also revealed Dahlia’s kit, indicating that he is a 4-star Hydro , capable of creating shields that replenish themselves after they’ve expired or been destroyed. Aside from the characters themselves, there have also been a few leaks about the possible playable content in the patch, such as story quests, thanks to the rumors of Dainsleif’s presence in the update. There have also been some leaks about the possible events during the update, one of which may feature a free character giveaway in Genshin Impact 5.7. Most of this information should be confirmed during the Version 5.7 livestream.

Heavenly Principles May Make Their First Appearance In Genshin Impact

The First Descender Is Considered A Villain Among The Community

While the livestream is set to occur soon, based on the game’s regular schedule, and most of the information about the update has already been leaked, it seems like there is still information to be shared. According to information provided by the leaker known as Miruko Real, there are two pictures in the game files that serve as textures for an object that seems like the Heavenly Principles. The leak was shared by Previous_Pirate7901 in a post flagged as “Suspicious” on Reddit, which questions its reliability. Even so, the images showcase a pink and red spike from Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 5.8's Lack Of New Characters May Actually Be A Blessing In Disguise

Despite the initial rumors about a new character in Genshin Impact 5.8, new leaks have mentioned no new character will be released, and that’s great.

The leaked images are textures for a file called SceneObj_HPteleport. It’s uncertain what this means exactly, but the leaker speculates that the “HP” portion of the file may refer to the Heavenly Principles. Aside from the naming coincidence, which may actually allude to the god-like figure, the images themselves speak with elements that have been present during the Traveler’s most emblematic conflict. The red spike resembles a part of the shape seen at the start of the game, before the Traveler siblings meet Asmoday, the Unknown God in Genshin Impact. For reference, Asmoday is the Sustainer of the Heavenly Principles.

This May Be HoYoverse’s Way Of Building The Villain

The rumors about the Heavenly Principles’ appearance in Version 5.7 is also ed by an isolated leak. According to information provided by the leaker known as Flying Flame, Version 5.7’s new story quest will showcase the Sustainer of the Heavenly Principles, Asmoday. It is worth noting that Flying Flame is not considered a reliable leaker, something that is made explicit in the Reddit post shared by the Blue_Special61. Even so, it seems like more than a coincidence that the Heavenly Principles’ name would appear twice, coming from different sources.

Asmoday and the Heavenly Principles in Genshin Impact are two distinct characters.

While the rumors about the game’s big villain appearing in Version 5.7 should be taken with an immense grain of salt, it doesn’t seem entirely out of the realm of possibility. The game’s overarching story is starting to get more attention recently, and its stakes are higher than ever, compared to the Traveler’s first expeditions through the seven Nations. Earlier this year, during the main Archon Quests in Natlan, players met with Ronova, the Ruler of Death and one of the four Shades of the Heavenly Principles, teasing the fake sky theory in Genshin Impact.

As such, the possibility of seeing the Heavenly Principles does not sound so ludicrous. However, it’s very unlikely that the Traveler will be put directly in touch with the First Descender so early on. The Heavenly Principles are being built as the big villainous force in Teyvat, going far beyond the threat of the Abyss. I find it improbable that players will enter conflict with the Heavenly Principles so soon, seeing that they still need to go through Nod-Krai, Snezhnaya, and Khaenri’ah before even considering an incursion on Celestia in Genshin Impact, the Heavenly Principles’ domain.

I Regret Not Pulling For This Broken Genshin Impact Character After Nearly Two Years, & Now It May Be Too Late

I skipped Furina’s banners, believing I already had characters that fulfilled her roles in Genshin Impact, and I deeply regret the decision I made.

Even if the Heavenly Principles (or Asmoday) do appear in Version 5.7, I suspect that it’ll be a simple teaser. This would also be the first time they appear since the beginning (though it’s uncertain if the Heavenly Principles appear at the start of the campaign). Aside from some notable mentions of their existences, we’ve seen no signs of the Heavenly Principles or Asmoday up until now. I believe it would make perfect sense for them to start their awakening process now, as the Traveler is close to ending their exploration across the seven Nations in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact's Nations May Unite With The Fatui & Abyss To Face The Heavenly Principles

The Villain’s Defeat Feels Imminent

While the game has only hinted at it, it does seem like Teyvat is making strides toward a direct conflict with the Heavenly Principles. The seven Nations’ Archons, while sitting at the thrones of power created by the First Descender, somewhat oppose their rule over Teyvat. Focalors was one of the Archons that most directly entered conflict with the Heavenly Principles, not only defying the First Descender’s orders, but also shattering the Hydro Archon’s throne. In turn, she also returned the divine power of the throne to Neuvillette, the Hydro dragon.

Before the First Descender’s rule over Teyvat, dragons were the original Elemental Sovereigns of the world, until their power was stripped from them, and the thrones for the Archons were created.

While the Fatui and the Tsaritsa have been presented as antagonistic forces thanks to the brutality and ruthlessness presented by some of their Harbingers, I suspect that their goal is to face the Heavenly Principles and destroy their rule and tyranny over Teyvat – even if their means are extremely questionable. The Abyss has also been shown as an antagonistic force, and I do believe they are villains, but the Traveler’s conversation with their Abyss-leading sibling also hints at the possibility of using its power to face the Heavenly Principles in Genshin Impact.

As was mentioned, these leaks should be considered with extreme caution, as there is a big chance they’ll be fake. Even so, I wouldn’t be too surprised if HoYoverse started making efforts toward showing that the Heavenly Principles is the big villain in the game. I also have an absurd Genshin Impact theory that, after their defeat, Teyvat’s true sky will be revealed, and that the game will the larger Honkai universe. For now, however, the story of Genshin Impact remains very grounded.
