Choosing between pulling for Xilonen and Venti in Varesa and Xianyun in Genshin Impact 5.5, both of which operate around Plunging Attacks.

Version 5.5’s Phase 1 banners are great if players are looking for a new Plunging Attack DPS alternative to Xiao, as Varesa can deal large loads of Nightsoul-aligned Electro AoE DMG with her continuous onslaught of Plunging Attacks. Meanwhile, Xianyun is arguably the best for Plunging Attack team comps, as she increases the CRIT Rate for Plunging Attacks and, with her Elemental Burst, can essentially transform any DPS into a Plunging Attack DPS. These banners, however, will soon be substituted by Xilonen and Venti with the start of the Phase 2 banners in Genshin Impact 5.5.

Xilonen & Venti Will Be Available In Genshin Impact 5.5 Banners Until May 6

It’s Uncertain When The Units Will Rerun Again

Nonetheless, the during which Xilonen and Venti will be available in banners in Version 5.5. If the update sticks to its regular six-week duration, Phase 2 banners, which feature Xilonen and Venti, will start on April 16 and last up until May 6, when maintenance for Version 5.6 is expected to begin. After the maintenance begins, you will be unable to pull for either of these characters, so if you plan on doing so, I’d recommend trying to optimize your Primogems gains in Genshin Impact 5.5 before that happens to get better chances of obtaining them.

There have been new leaks about Capitano’s release as a playable character in Genshin Impact, but I don’t believe them just yet, despite the evidence.

This is Xilonen’s first rerun, as she has only been featured during her debut in Version 5.1. It’s likely that she will rerun in the future, but when that will happen is a mystery; it could take months or, possibly, even years for that to happen. Wriothesley’s first rerun, for example, happened over a year after his release, so players who missed him the first time had to wait for a long time. It’s also unknown when Venti will rerun, but he’s been in the game since Version 1.0, so veteran players have already had multiple opportunities to obtain him.

Pros & Cons Of Pulling For Xilonen In Genshin Impact 5.5

The Natlan Character Is One Of The Best s & Will Likely Continue On That Throne

Xilonen is a 5-star Geo character who uses a sword in combat. Her main specialty is operating as a who applies RES shred on enemies, somewhat like Kazuha, but a bit differently. Xilonen’s Elemental Skill activates her Nightsoul’s Blessing state, which increases her Movement SPD, but, most importantly, allows her to activate her Samplers based on her party member’s elements. This only works with Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, and Electro – otherwise, they will default to Geo. Active Source Samples decrease nearby opponents’ corresponding Elemental RES.

Source Samples’ RES shred effects do not stack for the same element. If Xilonen has two Hydro Source Samples, for instance, only one instance of Hydro RES shred will be considered. This incentivizes you to use characters of various elements within Xilonen’s team comp in Genshin Impact.

At level 10 (the maximum level from C0 through C2), Xilonen’s Elemental Skill can apply 36% RES shred with her Source Samples. Xilonen’s Elemental Burst has two distinct effects based on her Source Samples. If they’ve been activated and had their elements changes, Xilonen’s Burst will heal nearby allies at intervals based on her DEF. If she has fewer than two Source Samples that changed elements, XIlonen’s Burst will deal Nightsoul-aligned AoE Geo DMG based on her DEF. Essentially, the effect will change depending on whether you use it at the start or at the end of her rotation.

Xilonen is a fantastic unit to run. Despite the fact that Xilonen’s rotation in Genshin Impact requires some attention so as to accurately activate her Source Samples, the rotation itself is fairly simple and versatile. The ability to provide some extra healing is also extremely beneficial, but I’d personally advise against using her as your dedicated sustain character – in the event you mess up her rotation, you can miss her healing effects and accidentally trigger her damage effect, which can be particularly brutal if your party are already at the brink of being defeated.

Along with all the benefits that Xilonen provides at the moment, it’s also expected that she will be a long-lasting , much like Kazuha. Her RES shred doesn’t have limitations that would make her obsolete too soon, so pulling for her now can prove to be a long-term investment for more team comps as the roster continues to expand with patches. There are hardly any downsides to pulling for Xilonen.

Pros & Cons Of Pulling For Venti In Genshin Impact 5.5

The Anemo Archon Is An Outdated Character

While Xilonen is being featured in her very first rerun banner, this is Venti’s fifth rerun, not considering his debut banner. Venti was the first 5-star unit to appear in banners back in Version 1.0, and not only is he an older character, but he is also fairly outdated. The archer can be built as an Anemo Swirl DPS or enabler, but he has been sured by other characters in these roles. The positive aspect is that Venti is versatile and can fit various teams, provided the other party have elements that interact with Anemo in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 5.6 Leaks: Ifa's Materials Can Be Pre-Farmed, But One Item Will Be A Huge Problem

The materials needed to fully upgrade Ifa in Genshin Impact 5.6 have leaked, and you can already start pre-farming most of them, except one.

Venti is also great at control via his Elemental Burst, which can be used quite frequently because of the low Energy requirements to activate it. This crowd control effect, however, doesn’t really work with bosses or tougher enemies. Even so, he can be a fun unit to run. Moreover, Venti is still a great character to use for exploration purposes. Even with the arrival of the Natlan characters, most of which feature incredible exploration talents, Venti’s Elemental Skill allows him to take to the skies in Genshin Impact.

Comparatively, however, Venti pales in comparison to Xilonen. I highly recommend using your Primogems on the Geo character from Natlan, unless you have a reasonable explanation to pull for Venti – such as increasing his Constellation levels (which don’t really improve him all that much) or because you like the character. I consider Xilonen a must-have character, and I’ll pull for her since I missed her initial run, something that I deeply regret because my team comps with Mavuika and Mualani would excel incredibly with Xilonen in Genshin Impact.
