A new world boss in Varesa’s Ascension materials in Genshin Impact will work, for example.
The leaks have also detailed both characters’ gameplay kits, as well as other important pieces of content set to arrive during the patch. This includes the new Natlan map area, which should be the ever-looming Great Volcano of Tollan, which is currently inaccessible. The area is said to contain the Collective of Plenty, the sixth and final tribe from Natlan that has yet to be introduced in the playable map and within the reputation system. The leaks about the new Natlan map area have even shown a new exploration feature in Genshin Impact 5.5 that could enhance gameplay.
New World Boss In Genshin Impact 5.5 Has Leaked
The Lava Dragon Statue May Have Two Forms
In addition to the new area and characters, one of the opponents that players may face within the rumored new area has leaked. According to information provided by the leaker known as HomDGCat, the new world boss from Version 5.5 is called Lava Dragon Statue, also referred to as Stone-Hearted Final Form of Flowing Flame. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Avatars of Lava in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact Needs One Major Update To Weekly Boss Fights
Farming weekly bosses in Genshin Impact is getting tougher by the minute and a simple update to the system would solve the biggest issue.
The images also reveal that the Lava Dragon Statue boss will have two distinct forms. The first of them is allegedly called the Geohuman form, which is represented by a stone mass, two short legs, one short arm, and a larger arm. The second leaked form is called Molten Dragon. In this second state, the world boss seems to envelop a portion of its body in lava and create a footing made of molten stone for it to move around. These two leaked forms for the world boss in Genshin Impact 5.5 also seem to have a specific gameplay mechanic.
Genshin Impact 5.5's Leaked World Boss Has Huge RES
Players Can Allegedly Weaken The Boss With Pyro Attacks
According to what can be seen in the leak, the leaked Lava Dragon Statue boss from Version 5.5 will have an incredible amount of RES against all types of attack, be they Physical or Elemental. The leak mentions that the new world boss will have 70% RES against all types of DMG in the game. For reference, the creature’s version in the Spiral Abyss is said to have 150% RES against all DMG types. This, however, can be circumvented by playing into the leaked opponent’s central gameplay mechanic in Genshin Impact, as shown by the leak.

Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks: How Many Primogems Are Available In The Next Update
An estimation of the Primogems obtainable in Genshin Impact 5.5 has been shared, based on the leaks provided for the patch so far.
As shown by the leaker, despite having a high RES stat against every type of DMG, players will want to use Pyro attacks on the leaked world boss’ Geohuman form. After sustaining enough Pyro attacks, the rumored boss is said to enter its second form, the Molten Dragon. The leak says that, while in this form, the Lava Dragon Statue world boss will retain its high RES. However, if the Molten Dragon form continues to take Pyro attacks, after a certain amount, it will lose HP and become weakened for 13 seconds in Genshin Impact.
In its weakened state, the leaked Lava Dragon Statue boss will have all its RES stats reduced to -50%. This is where players will likely be able to unload most of their heavy attacks for maximum damage efficiency, likely representing the moment where the boss is defeated, if their team comp is powerful enough. Another point of interest in the leak is that if the Molten Dragon form for the boss is not weakened and takes Cryo or Hydro attacks, the progress toward the weakened state will regress, eventually devolving it into the Geohuman form in Genshin Impact.
Best Team Comps To Farm Leaked World Boss From Genshin Impact 5.5
Use Pyro Characters & Avoid Hydro & Cryo
Players are, by no means necessary, obligated to play into the Pyro-centered mechanic to defeat the boss but to optimize your time, it is best if you use Pyro-focused teams, or at least a Pyro DPS that can enable the boss to eventually enter its weakened state. A mono-Pyro team can work well, especially when considering that off-field Pyro attacks could help hasten its weakened state. Players could also use Overloaded team comps, though a main Pyro DPS like Arlecchino in Genshin Impact would be best.
The table below lists a few team comp suggestions to face the leaked Lava Dragon Statue world boss from Version 5.5:
Best Team Comps To Face Lava Dragon Statue |
|
---|---|
Mono Pyro Team |
|
Overloaded Team |
|
There are several different team comps to use depending on what is available in your roster, but overall, I’d focus on getting as many Pyro attacks against the leaked boss so as to bring it into its weakened state and force it to lose HP – since attacks should be much weaker thanks to its high RES in Genshin Impact.
Regardless of the team comp chosen for the activity, I’d highly recommend avoiding the usage of Cryo or Hydro characters against the boss; not only would progress toward the weakened state be tougher given that only Pyro attacks can enable it, but they actually help regress advancement toward it. Overall, it would only make the fight tougher than it has to be.
As reliable as it may seem, the leak should be considered with caution, as the information is still highly subject to change during the Version 5.5 beta tests. Nevertheless, players may see themselves forced to use a specific type of team comp for this particular enemy since it can even punish them if they choose to use elements that go against its nature. It shouldn’t take too long for this to be confirmed by HoYoverse during the Genshin Impact 5.5 livestream, likely only a few weeks away.
