A new leak about Skirk’s early gameplay kit in lore bomb in Genshin Impact 4.2, which revealed information about the Descenders and the Gnoses.

The game revealed that Skirk has not only been able to safely traverse the Abyss but reside in it for extended periods. In fact, it was when Tartaglia became lost in the Abyss that Skirk found him and became his tutor. Skirk wasn’t playable in Version 4.2 and she has not appeared in the game since the interaction with the Traveler, but she is bound to return soon, according to a teaser by developer HoYoverse, the same that showcased the silhouettes for Yumemizuki Mizuki, Iansan, and Varesa in Genshin Impact – all of which have been confirmed as new characters.

Skirk Is Slated For Release In Genshin Impact Soon

The Character Has Been Teased By Developer HoYoverse

During the aforementioned teaser, HoYoverse revealed the silhouettes of several different characters that were said to be part of the Traveler’s adventures during the next few patches leading up to Version 6.0. One of the central silhouettes shown by the developer was that of Skirk, recognizable by her head adornment and the shape of her dress. As such, it’s expected that Skirk will be released fairly soon. Immediately after the teaser was shown, quite conveniently, some leaks about Skirk’s alleged release in Genshin Impact emerged, indicating that the character may reappear in the game and become playable in Version 5.7.

The leaks about her release also mention that Skirk will be a Cryo character, and thanks to her reputation as a swordswoman, the speculation is that she will use a sword. Aside from these details, there is still an absence of more concrete leaks about the character. Recently, there was a leak about a possible new Artifact set for Skirk in Genshin Impact, which not only buffs Cryo DMG but benefits characters with 0 Energy points. By putting the Artifacts and Skirk side by side, it’s speculated that Skirk will have a special Burst that isn’t reliant on Energy.

The initial rumors gave players a lot to think about, but a new leak further details her Elemental Skill, which can help understand how she will truly work. According to information provided by an uncredited leaker, Skirk’s Elemental Skill will see her summon a clone onto the battlefield. The leak was shared in a post flagged as “Suspicious” on Reddit. As seen in the leak, the Skill’s clone copies the actual character’s moves and her attributes. The leak says that the Skill will summon the clone and then enable players to pick one of two different modes in Genshin Impact.

An ongoing fan theory about the sky's veracity in Genshin Impact may gain more material for speculation with the World Quests in Version 5.5.

Compared to Chiori, Skirk’s leaked Skill can be followed up by Normal Attacks or her Elemental Burst. According to the leak, if players opt to continue with the Normal Attacks, this will see Skirk and her clone deal high-frequency moves against the target. Alternatively, if players choose to follow up with the Burst, Skirk will allegedly work with her Skill’s clone to deal increased damage, and then swap away for the next character in the team comp lineup. With this change, Skirk will leave the field, but the clone will remain there to attack enemies in Genshin Impact.

The leak mentions that the second variation of the clone can deal higher damage thanks to larger multipliers, but that it attacks at a lower frequency when compared to the first mode.

In addition to that, the leak says that there may be a Constellation level in Skirk’s kit that enables her to summon an additional clone. Furthermore, the new leak also confirms the previous speculation that Skirk wouldn’t be reliant on Energy. According to the leak, the character has 0 Energy by default and based on the leaker’s interpretation, the absence of a traditional Energy system or the need for a special type of Energy is only a means of hyperspecializing her kit with dedicated Artifacts and weapons that will likely not work with any other character in Genshin Impact.

Lastly, the leak answers a question about the Skill’s Elemental application, confirming that Skirk’s clone applies Cryo. This stacks up with the previous rumors that Skirk will be a Cryo character. As seen in its tag on Reddit, the leak is still suspicious with its lack of a credited leaker and how early the information is arising compared to when Skirk is expected to be released. As such, it should be taken with a huge grain of salt; the information may be incorrect or subject to changes before the release of the rumored new Cryo character in Genshin Impact.

Skirk Could Be A Hybrid DPS & Sub-DPS In Genshin Impact

The Rumored Cryo Character Could Be Similar To Mavuika

Genshin Impact's Skirk looks back, against a blurred background featuring the All-Devouring Narwhal leaving a rift.

While more specific details about her kit need to be shared to reach a more concrete conclusion, it does seem like Skirk will be a hybrid DPS and sub-DPS in the game, depending on which move players pick to follow up after her Skill’s usage. If players continue using Skirk on the field with the clone, it seems like the focus will be exploiting the character’s full damage output potential, which would make Skirk a main DPS. Alternatively, if players use her Burst and swap her out, Skirk could operate as a Cryo sub-DPS in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks: World Quest's Finale Soundtrack May Have An Ominous Secret Message

A soundtrack from Genshin Impact 5.5’s rumored World Quests has allegedly leaked and it carries a melancholic theme that may hint at a secret.

Aside from the rumored new Energy mechanic, Skirk’s possible hybrid build that could enable her to work in either a DPS or off-field sub-DPS role in team comps makes her very similar to Mavuika. The Pyro Archon from Natlan can also be built in either way, depending on players’ preferences, and she also has a unique Energy system that isn’t affected by Energy Recharge. If the leaks about her are true and Skirk is anything like Mavuika in of power level, too, then players may have the next important character in Genshin Impact not too far on the horizon.
