A duo of new NPCs has leaked for Varesa’s materials in Genshin Impact 5.5.

The leaks have also highlighted the gameplay kits for Varesa and Iansan, the two confirmed new playable units for the patch. In addition to the characters from the Collective of Plenty tribe, the rumors have shown that Version 5.5 may add a new area in Natlan, which should contain the final tribe to the explorable map and reputation system. Based on the leaks so far, it seems like the new Natlan map area will be the Great Volcano of Tollan, located in the region’s southwest reaches, and that there may be a new map feature in Genshin Impact 5.5.

Two New NPCs From Genshin Impact 5.5 Have Leaked

One Of The Leaked NPCs Seems Familiar

Now, more information, which may link up with the rumored map extension, has been leaked. Two seemingly important NPCs are set to be introduced in Version 5.5, according to information provided by an unknown leaker, which was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Waxaklahun Ubah Kan in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks: Iansan Materials Can Already Be Farmed, But There's Bad News About Her Talent Books

The list of Iansan’s Ascension and Talent materials in Genshin Impact 5.5 has leaked and players can farm most of the items, but there’s bad news.

The first leaked NPC seems like a robotic dragon figure. The leak even shows that its internal name is VolcanoRobot, which may confirm that it’s a character that players will meet during their expeditions through the rumored Great Volcano of Tollan. The second truly looks like Waxaklahun Ubah Kan, the legendary dragon sage who is featured in Natlan’s backstory, said to be an aid to Xbalanque, the first Pyro Archon. The leaked character models for these two NPCs do not say much, but one of their identities could provide more information about the World Quests in Genshin Impact 5.5.

Leaked Genshin Impact 5.5 NPC May Hint At Content Of Rumored World Quests

Waxaklahun Ubah Kan Helped Humanity’s Ascension In Natlan

A series of broken paths lead to Ochkanatlan in Genshin Impact.

As was previously mentioned, Waxaklahun Ubah Kan is an extremely important character in Natlanese history. Also known as the Sage of the Stolen Flame, the character was responsible for stealing the power of Phlogiston from the dragon overlords that once ruled Natlan and taught humanity how to wield it – which eventually helped bring the downfall of the tyranny of dragons and its leader, the Pyro Sovereign Xiuhcoatl, by the hands of Xbalanque. If the character’s phantom or shadow were to appear during the rumored World Quests, this aspect of Natlan’s history in Genshin Impact could be explored.

An estimation of the Primogems obtainable in Genshin Impact 5.5 has been shared, based on the leaks provided for the patch so far.

An interesting point of note is that, according to in-game lore, the Great Volcano of Tollan is the very location from which Waxaklahun Ubah Kan stole Phlogiston from the dragons. As such, and given that the dragon sage may appear in a phantasmal form during the World Quests, the game could portray these very events, taking the Traveler and their companions on a journey through time, witnessing the events that led to humanity’s ascension in Natlan. This is a pivotal moment that players have learned about through books and notes, but it could become somewhat interactive in Genshin Impact 5.5.

Genshin Impact 5.5’s World Quests Could Also Show Xbalanque Defeat Xiuhcoatl

Xiuhcoatl’s NPC Name Has Been Previously Leaked

In addition to the robbery of the flame by Waxaklahun Ubah Kan, and because of the speculated journey into the past, the new World Quests could also show Xbalanque’s fight against Xiuhcoatl. This is because the Great Volcano of Tollan is the exact location in which the former Pyro Archon is said to have defeated the Pyro Sovereign. If players are already going back through history, it would make sense to revisit what is likely the most important moment for Natlan. Furthermore, previous leaks about an NPC in Genshin Impact 5.5 indicate that Xiuhcoatl would make a reappearance.

For reference, players defeat the Lord of Eroded Primal Flame, an Abyss-corrupted version of Xiuhcoatl during the main Natlan story arc.

As such, the new World Quests could possibly revisit all of these significant moments in Natlan’s history, and Waxaklahun Ubah Kan’s leaked spectral form could be exactly what leads players through the adventure within the Great Volcano of Tollan. The leaks should be considered with some caution, as a lot is based on speculation, but all signs point toward a deeper understanding of everything Natlan has been through leading up to the current-day events portrayed in Genshin Impact.
