A new leak for new characters in Genshin Impact 5.3.
In addition to the characters and their respective gameplay kits, which are the highlights of the Version 5.3 leaks, the information coming from the patch’s beta tests also includes quality-of-life updates and system optimizations. There may be some Artifact-related tweaks in the next patch, for example. Other pieces of content have also been leaked, including rumors of a new world boss and even details on the rumored weekly boss in Genshin Impact 5.3. Among these contents is a piece of information that may overlap with a leak for Version 5.5.
A New Dragon NPC Has Leaked For Genshin Impact 5.5
The Rumored Dragon Could Be Xiuhcoatl
One of the NPCs from Version 5.5 has allegedly leaked, and there may be more to them than what their simple translated title gives out. According to information provided by the leaker known as HomDGCat, a new NPC has been spotted in the Version 5.3 beta tests’ coding, and it translates to 5.5 Big Dragon or Great Dragon. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit. Based on the post, this leaked Dragon NPC will be added in Genshin Impact 5.5, even if they have codes added to contents in Version 5.3.

Genshin Impact 5.3 Character Banner Leaks Show Concerning Absence
An ongoing absence from Genshin Impact banners has been noticed once again in Version 5.3 leaks, which may condemn an entire element to its doom.
While there is a lot of mystery surrounding the rumored Big Dragon character, some leaks for Version 5.3 may provide insight into who they may be. The aforementioned leaks about the weekly boss in Version 5.3 showed that the opponent will be a large dragon-like figure touched by the Abyss’ influence. Another leak by HomDGCat shows that this boss’ name is Xiuhcoatl, a historical figure in Natlan. The leak was also shared on Reddit. If the leaked 5.5 NPC is Xiuhcoatl, this could have huge lore implications in Genshin Impact.
Who Is Xiuhcoatl In Genshin Impact’s Natlan Region?
The Dragon Was The Original Pyro Sovereign
The first step is understanding who Xiuhcoatl was. The creature was the original Pyro Sovereign and a tyrant ruler over Natlan in ages past. Xiuhcoatl was defeated by Xbalanque long ago, before his ascension into Pyro Archon. If the leaks about the Version 5.3 weekly boss are correct, Xiuhcoatl, which was once Natlan’s largest menace, will be brought back under the influence of the Abyss’ corruption – the boss’ name is Corroded Lord of the Primal Flame, according to the leak. This could mean the dragon is revived, as per Natlan’s own history of resurrection in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact 5.3 Leaks: Pyro Traveler's Kit Shows Xiangling's Reign As A Pyro Sub-DPS May Have Come To An End After Four Years
The Pyro Traveler could become the best new Pyro sub-DPS in Genshin Impact, based on the leaks regarding their gameplay kit in Version 5.3.
Defeating the new weekly boss from Version 5.3 with the Traveler and their team does not necessarily mean killing him like Xbalanque did centuries ago – instead, the Traveler could actually beat the beast and rid them of the Abyss’ corruption. The main character has already demonstrated they can drain Abyssal influence from others, even if only partially, but Version 5.3 could be the pinnacle of the story when it comes to this ability. If they do, Xiuhcoatl could be kept alive in the story, free of the Abyss, and live on to be the leaked dragon NPC.
The game has a history of concluding the main story arc in a patch and then returning to the region a few patches later, like when HoYoverse introduced Petrichor and Arlecchino in Genshin Impact after saving Fontaine from its doom.
Of course, for now, the leaks should be considered with caution, as they may be incorrect. Furthermore, this is pure speculation based on the currently available leaked information. The rumored Big Dragon from Version 5.5. could be a brand-new NPC added to guide players through a new Natlan area, for example. Nevertheless, the leaks about Genshin Impact 5.3 are hinting at ground-breaking revelations, so it is only natural to fuel lore-heavy expectations.
