The Gen V season 1 ended with Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), Andre Anderson (Chance Perdomo), Emma Meyer (Lizzie Broadway), and Jordan Li (London Thor and Derek Luh) imprisoned in a mysterious facility. Season 2 underwent rewrites after Perdomo ed away in March 2024.
As shared by Prime Video at their CCXP México , the trailer reveals that Gen V season 2 will debut on September 17. Three episodes will be released on the premiere date, followed by weekly episode drops leading up to the season 2 finale on October 22. The trailer shows Marie, Jordan, and Emma returning to Godolkin University, which is now overseen by Dean Cipher (Hamish Linklater). Dean Cipher is seen promoting Homelander's (Antony Starr) anti-human agenda and pushing the young supes to their limits.
As promised by the show's creative tam, Andre has not been recast and the character has ed away in the show. His father, Polarity (Sean Patrick Thomas), is struggling to control his powers as he grieves, and asks, "What really happened to my son?" As Marie, Emma, and Jordan fight, often in graphic detail, and come face-to-face with Cate Dunlap (Maddie Phillips) and Sam Riordan (Asa Germann) again, familiar faces from The Boys appear, including Firecracker (Valorie Curry) and the Deep (Chace Crawford). What This Means For Gen V Season 2
Andre Is At The Heart Of Season 2
With a new semester underway at Godolkin University, it is fitting that Gen V season 2's release is in September, the same month that season 1 debuted in 2023. The trailer makes it clear that the show has made an extensive effort to honor Perdomo, as the truth behind his death and the characters' grief will be at the heart of season 2's story. Polarity's story in particular already feels incredibly emotional between real-world events and what has transpired in the series.

All 23 Supes In The Boys: Gen V Ranked By Power
Gen V follows the students of Godolkin University, and it introduces many new Supes whose powers range from almost useless to super strong.
Despite Cate and Sam ing Homelander's army of supes in The Boys season 4, they are not depicted as the primary antagonist in the trailer, with that role instead going to Dean Cipher. While Dean Shetty (Shelley Conn) was a victim of the supes and secretly working against them, Dean Cipher believes in supes being superior and is determined to shape them into living weapons to be used for Homelander's war. As evidenced by the trailer though, Marie and her friends are resisting and fighting in Andre's memory.
Our Take On The Gen V Season 2 Trailer & Release Date
Season 2 Will Be Deeply Emotional
The two-year wait for Gen V season 2 has been completely understandable given Perdomo's ing and the show's creative team rewriting the story to honor him. I already feel heartbroken watching Polarity's scenes in the trailer, and while I am thrilled that Gen V will soon return, I am bracing myself for scenes that will be emotionally difficult to watch. From the influence of Homelander being the President of the United States in all but name and Firecracker continuing to spout propaganda, I am also glad to continue seeing strong ties to The Boys that make sense for this spinoff.
