Sony’s highest-grossing movie ever at the U.S. Box Office. The MCU’s third Spider-Man installment sees Peter Parker comes to with the world knowing his identity, along with the multiverse and every villain that comes with it.
With the introduction of several familiar faces, there was no doubt that they were going to bring some comedy along with them. Despite the tone of the film taking a more emotional route than the previous two movies, it still holds several light-hearted moments that balance it out perfectly.
When Dr. Strange Lets Peter Use His First Name
"That Feels Weird But I'll Allow It."
The dynamic between Dr. Strange and Peter Parker is a humorous one. Although Peter is just a teenager, Dr. Strange recognizes that they have fought side by side several times, therefore he believes it’s time for them to take a significant step in their relationship.
Seeking Dr. Strange’s help, Peter goes to see him and addresses him as Sir. Noting everything they’ve been through together, Strange tells him that Sir is too formal, prompting Peter to call him Stephen. Although it was his idea, hearing Peter say his first name out loud is clearly an unusual concept to him.
Happy's Confusion
"Yeah, Peter, This Is Happy. I Accessed My Doorbell Camera. Who Are Those Guys, Huh? Is That A Cyborg? Are You Bringing A Cyborg With Robot Legs Into My House? And What About The Guy Made Of Mud? What’s Going On? Call Me Back."
Happy unfortunately doesn’t feature often and is certainly a character in No Way Home that deserves more screen time. After the world learns that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, Happy lets him and May move into his apartment to give them some privacy.
In hopes of curing the villains, Peter brings them to Happy’s apartment. Checking his doorbell camera, Happy is extremely confused, and rightly so, when he sees what can only be described as a cyborg, enter his home. Although he only pops up occasionally throughout the movie, he usually brings the comedy with him.
Electro's Great Advice
"Damn. Gotta Be Careful Where You Fall."
Exchanging notes doesn’t come around often for Spider-Man villains, however, the introduction of the multiverse gave them a chance to reflect on their lives and how they came to be there. Whilst in Happy’s apartment, Electro and Sandman share stories about their backgrounds.
Electro reveals that he fell into a tank of electric eels, which Sandman is surprised to hear because he fell into a supercollider. Gaining a brief insight into how the two view their tragic accidents, Electro hilariously notes that people need to be more careful where they fall.
Peter 3's Love For His Brothers
"Wait Wait Wait Wait... I Love You Guys."
Despite displaying several differences in their portrayal of Peter Parker, the three Spider-Men form an instant bond when sharing the same screen. As they are preparing to fight the original villains, Peter 3 makes sure to grab the guys for one last embrace, telling them he loves them.
Unfortunately for Peter 3, the other two don’t exactly respond in the same way and instead, reply with an awkward smile and an even more awkward "Thank you." Despite the response, the delivery of this line is simply hilarious and is one of the many reasons why Andrew Garfield’s performance is one of the best in No Way Home.
An Awkward Moment For Electro
"So, What? Y'all Just Gonna Stand Here And Act Like I Ain't Butt Ass Naked?"
Compared to the greater fighting ability than Sandman, Electro is overpowered and brought back to his human body.
After having a full conversation, it’s brought to everyone’s attention that Electro is actually naked, and no one has thought to mention it. This scene takes an immediate uncomfortable turn; however, it is hilarious to watch as an awkward Peter has no idea how to react.
Peter 3's Take On Peter 1's Outfit
"So, Are You Gonna Go Into Battle Dressed As A Cool Youth Pastor Or You Got Your Suit?"
The interactions between all three Spider-Men are everything fans could’ve hoped for, and more. Peter 2 and Peter 3 play a pivotal role and feature much more in the movies than anyone expected, much to the audience’s delight.
Whilst creating the cure for the multiverse villains, Peter 3 notices that Peter 2 isn’t wearing his suit and questions whether he is going to suit up or stay how he is. A cool youth pastor isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when looking at Peter 2’s outfit, however, gaining an insight into Peter 3’s mind is simply hysterical.
Ned's Realization
"I Would Like To Have My Word Stricken From The Record."
Although he knew that being Spider-Man’s “guy in the chair” was a secret, Ned’s excitement sometimes caused him to reveal things to the wrong people. When the world discovers Spider-Man’s identity, Ned is arrested alongside Peter. During the interrogation, Ned reveals that he has assisted Peter through several of his “crimes."
Realizing that he has just incriminated himself massively, Ned timidly asks for the police to remove his words from the record. Ned’s socially awkward persona means most of what he says turns out to be comical, even if it’s not intended.
Peter 3's Tingle
"I Have The Tingle Thing. Just Not For Bread."
Although it was highly anticipated by fans, the introduction of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man was still one of the most shocking moments in Spider-Man: No Way Home. From the moment he entered Ned’s living room, the comedy was at an all-time high.
When Ned and MJ meet Peter 3, they instantly become wary of him. Knowing of Spider-Man’s tingle, MJ begins to throw bread at him, believing that he would catch it if he had the tingle. Audiences can’t help but laugh at Peter’s calm and collected self as he explains that he does have the tingle, but weirdly enough he doesn’t have it for bread.
Peter 1's Interesting Question
"Like Does It Just Come Out Of Your Wrists Or Does It Come Out Of Anywhere Else?
Fans never thought they would see the day when three Spider-Men sat down and exchanged stories, however, No Way Home gave everyone what they wanted. When comparing their differences, Peter 1 and Peter 3 take this as an opportunity to ask Peter 2 about his web fluid.
Both Peter’s are completely fascinated that Peter 2 can make his web fluid inside his body. Peter 1 decides to awkwardly ask if it comes out anywhere else. Whatever he was implying doesn’t need to be explored, however, it was an interesting question and a hilarious moment between the three that no one will forget.
Peter 3's Excitement About The Avengers
"Is That A Band? Are You In A Band?"
One of the most amusing outcomes of the crossover was the dynamic between the three Spider-Men. Although to many people’s surprise, they don’t instantly work well together as a team. Realizing they need to work better together, Peter 1 informs them that he is an expert on this because he was part of the Avengers.
Having absolutely no idea what that means, Peter 3 gets excited when he thinks this universe’s Spider-Man is part of a band. This response is made better by the fact that Peter 1 was definitely expecting a very different reaction to what he got.
