One of the Phraugh Village bonus missions in The First Berserker: Khazan is the Night of Tragedy, which has you exploring the haunted village of Bhangau to discover where the ghosts are coming from. You'll have to fight your way through a ton of undead enemies here that revive if you don't destroy their spirit trail after killing them, and in many places throughout the village, you'll end up getting swarmed if you aren't careful. At the end of this village is the Specter of Bhangau, an ominous spirit that looks strangely familiar.

The Specter of Bhangau is actually the counterpart to the region's skills you've selected for Khazan.

How To Defeat The Specter Of Bhangau In The First Berserker: Khazan

Volbaino's Moves & Add Teleportation To The Mix

While it looks and acts almost exactly like Volbaino, the Specter of Bhangau has its own unique move set and abilities on top of the ones Volbaino had, making it even trickier to anticipate what's coming next. As with Volbaino, the Specter of Bhangau uses a hammer and chisel weapon and will drive the spike into the ground to light the arena on fire, as well as the smaller circles of fire he creates with a variation of that same move. These are the familiar moves, but the unfamiliar ones are the attacks you'll need to keep an eye out for.

Upgrading the right stats early in The First Berserker: Khazan requires a little understanding of how the weapon scaling works, but they can be reset.

You will notice right away that the Specter of Bhangau can teleport across the arena at will, and often he will start doing this to land an attack during a combo move. While this might seem unfair, your locking mechanism will stay locked on to him when he reappears out of the ether (as long as you don't unlock). This means when the specter reappears, you will turn to face it automatically and should be able to land a brink guard relatively easily.

One effective strategy I used was to wait until it pounds the chisel into the ground and attack from behind as it tries to pull the thing out. You can dodge away just before he yanks it all the way out. Similar to Volbaino, he can actually launch his chisel at you from range, only this time, he might follow it up by throwing his hammer as well. Both of these moves can be dodged if you see them coming. You'll want to employ the same strategy in of using the ladder as you did with Volbaino as well.

The specter will light up the floor during the first half of the fight, so your best bet is to get to the upper level as soon as you can.

When the Specter of Bhangau licks his chisel, you'll know it's time to book it to the other level. He will also light his chisel on fire once he enters his second phase of the fight, and his attacks will become more wild. There will be a few openings to look for when he pings the chisel into the floor and then goes to retrieve it. Once the chisel has been lit on fire, you can actually put this out with successful brink guards to make things a little easier.

Rewards For Beating The Specter Of Bhangau

Fallen Guardian Set Pieces & The Happy Boy And The Deer Collectible

The First Berserker_ Khazan_Specter of Bhangau rewards

When you finally defeat the Specter of Bhangau, you'll be rewarded with the Happy Boy and the Deer Collectible, which explains why the specter was still lingering around the village. The boy and Volbaino had a bond that tied their souls to one another, and the Specter of Bhangau needed to be defeated to make them whole again. Aside from the collectible, you'll also be rewarded two random pieces from the Fallen Guardian Set, and you'll finally have access to the Blacksmith — that is, after you finish retrieving his hammer and defeating Bearius as well.

The First Berserker: Khazan - How To Beat Rangkus (Boss Guide)

Rangkus is the sixth boss you face in The First Berzerker: Khazan, with slow but powerful attacks across two phases that make him difficult to beat.

You will also be rewarded with a random accessory and the Guardian Hooves, which allow you to craft the Fallen Guardian Set from the Blacksmith. You'll probably have a handful of these sets already if you've been exploring each area in its entirety, and you'll need special materials in order to craft individual items from each set. Overall, the Specter of Bhangau is a pretty tough secondary boss who is almost identical to Volbaino in The First Berserker: Khazan, just with some new moves you'll need to be ready for.
