While five vaults are available in the base game, two additional vaults appear in the Far Harbor and Vault-Tec Workshop DLCs.

Vaults are often concealed and difficult to access, demanding considerable effort to infiltrate. Venturing into the vaults unveils rich backstories and grants access to invaluable items. Every Vault Location In Fallout 4

Vault 111

When the bomb drops in 2077, initiating the Great War, you're led to Vault 111, d as a haven for your family. It is the site of Vault-Tec's cryostasis experiment, freezing all inhabitants, including yourself. Your awakening is triggered by a mercenary who kidnaps your child and kills your spouse, setting off the main quest.

Emerging from the cryogenic pod in Vault 111, you find yourself among corpses and skeletons. This marks the true beginning of Fallout 4. While sparse in resources, the vault houses crucial items, notably the essential Pip-Boy 2000 device.

Consider revisiting Vault 111 in Fallout 4, just northwest of Sanctuary. Inside the Overseer's office is a caged area with a locked case containing the Cryolator, a potent energy weapon that freezes enemies. Initially, you can't access it due to its Master-level lock. Return later with Cait, a companion skilled at lockpicking, or after leveling up, to pick Master locks yourself.

In the Vault 111 cafeteria, the recreational terminal houses the Red Menace mini-game, which can be played on your Pip-Boy.

Vault 75

Vault 75 is located in the basement of Malden Middle School, near Medford Memorial Hospital in the northern-central Commonwealth. To explore this grim underground laboratory, head southeast from Lake Quannapowitt, northeast from Covenant, or southwest from Greentop Nursery.

Descending the elevator to enter the vault, which harbors a morbid history. As you explore, you uncover that Vault 75 housed one of the darkest Vault-Tec experiments to enhance human genetics by harvesting them from children, aiming to strengthen the gene pool for survival in a nuclear wasteland.

Vault 75 was abandoned following the execution of all its residents, including the staff and children. Now occupied by the Gunners gang, players exploring the vault must confront and fight these enemies.

Vault 75 offers valuable loot, including a Science Bobblehead on Basement Level 3, on a desk above the cafeteria. To access this area, retrieve the Vault 75 lab access card from the Gunner commander in the diner. This Bobblehead in Fallout 4 permanently grants an extra guess when hacking terminals, a worthwhile find for players.

Adjacent to the Overseer's room, you can pick the Expert-level door lock or use the terminal to unlock it. Inside, you'll find issue 5 of 'Grognak the Barbarian.' This magazine perk enhances Critical Hit damage by +5% when attacking unarmed or with melee weapons, providing a significant combat advantage.

Vault 81

Vault 81 was initially designed to conduct disease research by infecting its residents unknowingly. However, the first Overseer, Dr. Olivette, sabotaged this plan by disabling the scientists' equipment and isolating them from the rest of the vault, thus protecting the inhabitants.

This vault's fate had a more positive outcome, making it one of the few successful, functioning vaults in the wasteland. It was transformed into a genuine sanctuary, allowing its residents to live blissfully unaware. A century after the Great War, Vault 81 opened its doors to initiate communication and trade with the outside world.

Located west of Fallout 4's Diamond City, near Chestnut Hillock Reservoir, it can also be found south of Gray Garden and Oberland Station. Alternatively, you can reach it by traveling southeast from Fort Hagen.

You will speak to the current Overseer, McNamara, at the entrance to the vault, who will ask for three fusion cores in exchange for access. Alternatively, you can by this exchange by ing a tough Speech Check to get inside if you have high Charisma.

Entering Vault 81, you'll find it is divided into two main sections: the residential area where the dwellers live and a hidden observation area previously used for experimentation. By 2287, this secret section had been overrun by a breed of Mole Rats, while the residential part had remained operational and populated. Vault 81's Secret Vault

Vault 81's hidden vault becomes accessible during the 'Hole in the Wall' quest. By navigating through the damaged walls of residences, you'll find a small atrium connected to the maintenance area. Above the generators is the entrance to the sealed-off observation area. Here, you encounter Curie, a companion in Fallout 4. This secret area also houses a range of valuable items:

Vault 95

Vault 95 was designed as a social experiment, housing individuals striving to overcome their addictions to various illegal substances. The experiment took a dark turn when a Vault-Tec employee, posing as a resident, disclosed a hidden stash of Chems. This revelation caused the inhabitants to relapse, resulting in a spiral of addiction that led to widespread violence and self-destruction, ultimately plunging the vault into chaos.

Upon discovering Vault 95 in Fallout 4, you will find it's heavily guarded by the Gunners gang, along with three Assaultrons and two Mr. Gutsy robots, making it one of the toughest vaults to infiltrate. Despite the security, the vault is easy to locate, built into a cliffside with visible scaffolding. You'll find it northeast of the Capsized Factory and southeast of the Edge of the Glowing Sea.

This area is central to Cait's companion quest. Increase your affinity with Cait to automatically reveal the vault's precise location on your map.

Vault 95 is rich in loot, including approximately x115 aluminum, a valuable crafting material obtained from scrapping items like Aluminum Cans and Surgical Trays. For those looking to enhance their skills with Fallout 4's best Chems, the hidden stash remains intact despite its tragic history and can be located in the living quarters. To find it, go through the broken wall to the right of the restrooms at the vault's western end.

An extremely powerful explosive that must be placed down. Unarmed, one is in the detox facility (east) on the desk, and the other is in the northeastern room of the living quarters on the desk with the private terminal.

x4 Psycho, x2 Jet

  • West of the stash, held by a skeleton in one of the closed restroom stalls.
  • East of the stash, lying in front of two skeletons in the western room of the living quarters.
  • At the feet of a skeleton by the bed, in the northwestern room of the living quarters behind a Novice-locked door.

Chems and alcohol in Fallout 4 provide temporary boosts but can lead to addiction. If addicted, you must continue using the substance to avoid severe stat penalties. To mitigate this risk, choose the Chem Resistant trait when leveling up, which offers a 50% resistance to addiction from individual Chems.

Vault 114

Vault 114 is integral to one of the main quests, 'Unlikely Valentine,' where you must rescue Nick Valentine. Built under the Park Street Subway Station, Vault 114 was intended to test the resilience of politicians and wealthy individuals living under impoverished conditions. However, this weird Vault-Tec experiment never commenced as the construction was delayed.

Vault 114 now serves as a hideout for Triggermen gang , whom players must defeat during their rescue mission. To locate Park Street Station, follow the lamps leading to the start of the Freedom Trail at Boston Common, situated southwest of the Mass Fusion building, a distinctive red skyscraper. Alternatively, you can start from Goodneighbor and head southwest. Descend into the depths of the station to find Vault 114's entrance.

Although limited in loot, this vault is crucial to explore, as rescuing Nick makes him an optional companion who aids in the search for your abducted child. Inside the Overseer's room, you'll find a Speech Bobblehead. This collectible permanently increases the number of bottle caps vendors have by 100, improving your bartering power.

In the residential quarters, you can also find issue 7 of the 'Astoundingly Awesome Tales' perk magazine, placed beside candles on a white Vault-Tec crate that blocks the first corridor. This issue grants you a +5 increase in Action Points. Additionally, the vault contains abundant crafting materials, including Ceramic, Cloth, and Glass.

Vault 88

Vault 88 is a unique bunker in Fallout 4. As shown by Charlatan Wonder on YouTube, it can be transformed into a customizable settlement. Part of the Fallout 4 Vault-Tec Workshop DLC, this vault was initially intended to test and distribute prototype devices across other vaults.

Construction was halted by the onset of the Great War, leaving it largely unfinished. Vault 88 is found in a small cave beneath Quincy Quarries, located southeast of Hyde Park and east of Suffolk County Charter School.

The vault is overrun by aggressive and high-level Raiders, including Psycho Raiders. Ensure to bring Radaway, as the surrounding area is heavily irradiated, adding a challenging layer to infiltrating the vault.

Inside Vault 88, the Overseer will request that you retrieve the Vault-Tec Control Board from the reactor room. This will reactivate the workshop and allow you to free her from a blocked corridor. She will then task you with reconstructing the vault from the ground up while she welcomes potential residents into the newly established settlement. This allows you to build your own vault in Fallout 4.

You're encouraged to explore the rest of Vault 88, where you can find key items, including an X-cell. This rare consumable temporarily enhances all special attributes by two points for two minutes. Due to its highly addictive nature, it should be used only when necessary.

Vault 118

Vault 118, featured in the Far Harbor DLC, was designed as a social experiment where ten ultra-wealthy residents, served by robotic staff, interact with and rule over 300 working-class individuals living in poor conditions.

Like many vaults, Vault 118's construction was incomplete, and its intended social experiment never started. When the Great War erupted, the vault was sealed with no outsiders itted, leaving the Overseer as the sole human among numerous mad Robobrains.

In the 'Brain Dead' quest from the Fallout 4 DLC, the Robobrains eventually seek external assistance for a crime scene, inviting you to investigate a comical murder mystery among the vault's robotic inhabitants. Located beneath the Cliff's Edge Hotel, east of the National Park HQ, Vault 118 offers an array of accessories, including a Pirate Hat, Road Goggles, and the Dapper Gent top hat.
