Rivals to the Meta Quest 2 from competitors such as Lenovo have given consumers more VR headset options.
The metaverse market is expanding, and more companies have begun investing in virtual reality and augmented reality products. While many of these products are targeted toward the general public, some developers have chosen to focus on enterprise customers. As a result, VR headsets aimed at corporate markets tend to come with more robust features and , along with a heftier price tag.
Project Cambria high-end VR headset are expected, in addition to updates on the VR developer ecosystem, metaverse progress, and a keynote from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
VR Headsets & Other Metaverse Announcements Expected From Meta
Although Meta has announced that there will be updates on Project Cambria, it is unclear whether it will officially launch the device at Meta Connect 2022. Viewers can expect at least a preview of the advanced mixed reality headset, but the first official look at the device may not be as in-depth of an overview as some consumers are hoping for. In addition, Meta has not stated whether a release date can be expected for the company's next-generation VR headset.
Aside from hardware announcements, there should be a few other big updates Meta has in store for Meta Connect 2022. It has been a year since Meta announced the company's switch from the Facebook moniker and their plans for the metaverse. Now that the company has some more competition, it will be interesting to see how Meta plans to make the metaverse more immersive for consumers.
