One of the key ways players uncover the main story of Elden Ring Nightreign is by discovering more about each of the eight playable Nightfarers. The Nightfarers have gathered at the Roundtable Hold to oppose the forces of the Nightlord and repel the Night's Tide, but they've lost their memory of exactly what brought them there. As you progress through the game, you'll start to learn more about these characters, their motivations, and the larger story of Nightreign.

Remembrance quests are unlocked during gameplay and can be accessed via the journal in the Roundtable Hold. You will gradually unlock more journal entries as you progress through the game and play with each character. After defeating a certain number of Nightlords, you'll be able to activate specific quests via these journal entries in the Roundtable Hold, and eventually piece together each Nightfarer's history to learn more about what's happening in Nightreign's story.

How To Unlock Remembrance Quests

Defeat Nightlords To Unlock More Remembrance Quests

Remembrances are part of Elden Ring Nightreign's main gameplay progression and are unlocked after defeating several Nightlord bosses. They will unlock gradually and can be accessed in the Roundtable Hold's Journal, where you can read more details about each individual Nightfarer's story. After unlocking the first Remembrance for a Nightfarer, you'll enter into a Remembrance memory and be given an objective that varies depending on the character.

Elden Ring Nightreign's Metacritic Score Is FromSoft's Lowest-Rated Soulsborne Ever

Elden Ring Nightreign has proven to be slightly divisive among critics, resulting in the lowest score FromSoftware’s gotten for a Soulsborne game.

Each character has a series of "Chapters" in their associated quest, and each one requires completing specific objectives that are different for each Nightfarer. For example, Ironeye's first Remembrance quest involves entering into a new match and tracking down a specific mini-boss that will only appear if you or someone in your party has Ironeye's Remembrance activated in their journal.

How To Complete Remembrance Quests

Completing Remembrance Quests Varies Based On Nightfarer

To complete Remembrance quests in Elden Ring Nightreign, you'll have to play as each individual Nightfarer and complete each chapter of their journal entries. This will vary depending on the Nightfarer but can include objectives like completing a solo gauntlet as Raider against a series of difficult enemies or retrieving specific quest items in Limveld for Wylder's questline.

There are many journal entries that don't have any Remembrance quests to select, but quest entries will appear as you defeat more Nightlords and progress through the game.

To start and complete Remembrance quests, you need to be sure to have them activated in the journal before starting a match or to be able to access the unique challenge from the Roundtable Hold. Each Nightfarer has several chapters to their story with associated objectives, which will provide additional clues as to why each Nightfarer is in the Roundtable Hold.

What Do You Get For Remembrance Quests?

Remembrance Quests Reward New Outfits & Backstory

Remembrance quests are basically an incentive to replay as each Nightfarer and discover more about the main story at play in Nightreign. Presumably, completing all the Remembrance quests for each Nightfarer will culminate in a final encounter or cutscene, but as of this writing, the specifics of this haven't yet been discovered. In addition to these backstories for each Nightfarer, you will also receive unique costumes or outfits that can be accessed in the dresser at the Roundtable Hold.
