As fans of DBS know, Goku Black is the result of a rogue Kai manipulating time travel and the Super Dragon Balls to steal Goku's body in a convoluted plan to erase all mortals in the universe. The creative What If scenario featured in the recently released Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero story mode instead had the Kai Zamazu set his gaze on Gohan instead of Goku. Fan art has taken the idea of Gohan Black and combined it with Gohan's latest Beast form, which he unlocked during the Super Hero arc, by a talented Dragon Ball fan artist and X , riiya_am.

Gohan Black, The Divine Beast Emerges

The divine fan art depicts what Gohan Black would look like with the Beast form's signature spiked silver hair and Black's haunting pale purple ki blade jetting from his hand. Gohan's Beast form is so powerful because it manifests the latent power he's held since his introduction at the beginning of Dragon Ball Z. The hybrid between Saiyan and Human DNA is an overwhelmingly strong mix that arguably would have made him a more clever target for Zamazu's evil plans. Even though their meeting had much narrative potential, Gohan and Goku Black never interacted throughout the contentious Dragon Ball Super arc.

Akira Toriyama's influence and the inspiration his work gave to the world has spawned many incredible projects and fan art from around the globe. While some have provided heartfelt moments from underrated Dragon Ball characters, others have offered clever designs from different perspectives of the franchise's greatest moments.
