Afterimage Strike is a top-tier move in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, and some would argue it's overpowered. It basically lets you dodge every attack as if you had an illusion instead of yourself. This has become a very contentious move in the online scene because even if you know how to beat it, it's incredibly difficult to last through. Most players who have the right character and know how to do it tend to win more often because of this move.
Unlike Sonic Sway, Afterimage Strike isn't a matter of the correct combination of button presses, which is why you could easily be confused when trying to do it with a random character. Once you know how to do this, you'll likely use it all the time. However, it's best to be ready for a nerf because there's some unfairness when it comes to being able to Afterimage Strike, and the only counters that you have against this kind of move are in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero.
How To Do Afterimage Strike In Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
How To Cheese Every Fight
Afterimage Strike is a powerful skill in Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, but it is limited to only a few characters. To do this move, you must first pick a character with the Afterimage Strike ability. You cannot make this move with any character, and it cannot be learned.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero - How To Get Dragon Orbs & What They're Used For
Dragon Orbs are a great way to easily get through alternate paths in Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero, as they'll lower the difficulty of matches.
Some characters with this skill include GT Goku, Kid Gohan, Super Vegeta, Super Vegito, Krillen, Pan, Roshi, Videl, and Dabura. How you do it depends on your character, because some have it as a more prominent skill, while others have it as a skill you must press a shoulder button to use. Keep an eye out for DLC characters because we may find more that can use this skill over time.
The strongest character who can use this is Super Vegito. If you use him, you will win most fights pretty easily.
The Afterimage Strike uses three ki bars, which is pretty costly but lets you dodge most attacks for 15 seconds. If you're using a higher-powered character like Vegito, that's most of the fight. The issue is that you can still earn Ki while beating up your enemy, so if you're good enough, you can get pretty close to reactivating this move after it runs out.
This ability only works on some characters. If you transform, you will lose it. For example, Vegito Blue can't use it, but Super Vegito can. Go through all the characters and see their skills. If you can see Afterimage Strike, you can just press the buttons it shows to do it. You can see an example of Afterstrike Image being used in the video from DracoWolf above.
How To Defend Against Afterimage Strike in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
The only way to defend against Afterimage Strike is through ki blasts and grabs. Anything else, including bigger ki attacks, will be dodged. The smartest thing to do is to keep running away from your opponent for 15 seconds. If they get close to you, use a grab or throw ki blasts and get away again. You only need to keep this up for 15 seconds, and then you can go back to regular fighting in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. That's a lot to do when your opponent can't be hurt, but it's the only option you have.
