There are many ways of upgrading and customizing your favorite fighters in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. One of the best ways to buff fighters is by using Ability Items. These items will add useful effects like reducing Ki cost for skills, increasing attack power, and even lengthening the duration of Sparking! Mode.

If you are looking to become the strongest fighter in the universe, you'll want to collect as many Ability Items as you can. Outfitting your characters with the best items will give you the edge you need and can be used in the Online/Offline Battle, Custom Battle, and World Tournament modes.

Ability Items are small capsules that provide special unique buffs to the skills and stats of a fighter when equipped. These capsules allow you to further customize your characters to better fight your favored fighting style. If you prefer to engage your enemies in close quarters combat, equip an Ability Item that boosts combo attack damage. Do you like to keep your distance and fire off powerful Ki blasts? Equip an Ability Item that will increase your Ki recovery.

Some Ability Items will offer a buff to one ability at the cost of debuffing another. When equipping sets of Ability Items, try to offset any weaknesses gained from one item with other item effect buffs.

There are currently just over 90 different Ability Items in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. With a huge roster of fighters, there are a massive number of combinations of items and fighters. Each Ability Item is ranked in strength from one to three stars. A one-star item might give only a slight increase to an ability or stat, while a three-star item will offer a large increase. Here is a list of all the Ability Items currently in the game:

There is something for everyone when it comes to customizing your fighters with Ability Items, so have a look through the table above and figure out which ones you want the most.

How To Get And Equip Ability Items

Increase Player Level To Unlock Ability Items

The easiest way to get more Ability Items is to buy them from the Shop. As you increase your Player Level, more and more of the capsules will become available for purchase. Ability items are also found as rewards for clearing Bonus Missions found in the Custom Battle Menu. You can also acquire them by making a wish and selecting "I want Ability Items" from Porunga and Super Shenron.

The only Ability Item that can't eventually be bought in the Shop is Broly's Ring, which you can only get from Super Shenron.

Equipping Ability Items is simple, and you can eventually equip up to seven different items. Head to Kame House and enter the Customization menu. From here, select your character and select the Ability Items you would like to equip. You can even save up to five different item sets, making it easy if you want to equip the same items on many different characters. Once you've collected enough Ability Items, you'll be able to fully customize your fighters with unique and powerful builds in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero.
