With Matt Smith making headlines as Daemon Targaryen in HBO's Doctor Who from 2010 to 2013.

Smith became a Doctor Who fan favorite, but not without the help of the Eleventh Doctor's companions, Amy and Rory. Their friendship made it worth the watch, and Amy and Rory's departure from the series was heartbreaking. Thankfully, Whovians have created plenty of hilarious memes to keep their memory alive.

Sarcastic Amy

Sarcastic Amy is the best Amy. Their relationship can be summed up in this meme alone. Everyone knows that Amy has been quite sassy with The Doctor from the very beginning, and it's one of the reasons fans love her so much.

The way Amy's personality balances out The Doctor's wackiness makes for a perfect pairing. After all, what is Doctor Who without a companion to literally bring The Doctor back down to Earth?

Rory Coming Back To Life

Rory is nothing if not consistent and this meme proves that. He has died countless times and somehow, always comes back. The fact that the show has become self-aware in that they can really do anything they want with Rory makes it even more hilarious.

It is easy to think of Rory as a disposable character, but he is arguably the heart of the series; he binds the friendship between Amy, The Doctor, and himself together, and is often considered one of the most unappreciated Doctor Who companions.

Rory Asking Logical Questions

There is Amy logic and then there is Rory logic. Sometimes both The Doctor and Amy need a little reminder that their actions have consequences and that is why Rory is there. The three of them have been in this kind of predicament more than enough times for Rory not to ask the right questions.

Rory is such a loyal friend and always has their backs, even if it means sacrificing himself to save them. He would no doubt survive and perhaps, thrive in Supernatural, as he certainly acts and dresses the part.

You're Dying. Shut Up.

For starters, the parallels between the 9th Doctor (played by Christopher Eccleston) and Eleventh Doctor are absolutely "Fantastic!" The Doctor and Amy have no trouble telling it like it is, and their banter makes for some hilarious exchanges. It is moments like these that remind audiences why Eleven is considered one of the funniest characters in Doctor Who.

Even with Amy dying, Eleven never misses an opportunity to get a good quip in. He is trying to save her life and doesn't have time for her feelings at that very moment. Most of the time, he's trying to prove that he has everything under control even when he doesn't.

Amy And Her Poncho Boys

Amy is not only a problem-solver but a low-key comedy queen. The Doctor, Amy, and Rory constantly find themselves in tricky situations, so a little creativity is necessary from time to time. Hence, the ponchos.

It takes a sense of humor to go along with The Doctor on all of his crazy adventures so when the idea of potentially dying presents itself yet again, at least they'll look good. Also, it's a great life hack if there isn't a coat nearby.

Amy And Rory

Amy and Rory's dynamic has always been a fun one to watch. They are perfectly matched and balance each other out like partners should. Rory knows Amy so well that he doesn't even need to see her to know what kind of mood she is in.

He accepts what might be considered her faults and yet still does everything he can (including waiting 2,000 years) to save her. Plus, he is rather hilarious himself.

When Amy Isn't Home

"Oven Kid" and his trombone-playing dad's 2014 meme "When Mom Isn't Home", could definitely be used to describe The Doctor and Rory's friendship. This cover of Timmy Trumpet's song "Freak" screams absolute chaos and is the perfect amount of trouble they could possibly get into without Amy, aka "Mom," there to ruin the fun.

Someone has to watch after them and when it's not Rory, it's Amy. Although knowing Amy's personality, she would probably let them finish being weird, making witty remarks along the way. The boys would surely wreak havoc without Amy there to supervise them.

Little Amy

The audience gets to know new companion, Amelia Pond straight away. The first episode (and one of Amy Pond's best Doctor Who episodes), "The Eleventh Hour" introduces Eleven and little Amy and sets the tone for the next couple of seasons.

Even as a child, Amy is the epitome of sass and lets The Doctor know the first chance she gets. No, Amy, no one knows why the TARDIS says "Police" and not "Doctor". Get used to things not making sense for the next 15+ years.

Christmas List

Even in the middle of a crisis, The Doctor never fails to be his zany self. When he, Rory, and Rory's father are mysteriously teleported to the beach, they attempt to discover what planet they're on by digging to get to the humming sound coming from the sand.

Rory's father whips out a trowel and starts going at it while Rory stands there stunned that his father has this on his person. He tells his son that he always carries one and to put it on his Christmas list. The Doctor's response to Rory saying he doesn't have a list anymore was unnecessary but totally expected and hilarious. Maybe Rory's father will get a trowel for The Doctor for Christmas.

Accurate Description Of The Doctor

Amy's skepticism of The Doctor from their very first meeting when she was 7 years old to this point hasn't waned. While she loves and s him as a friend, she also knows that he is not to be trusted one hundred percent of the time.

Rory is very much aware of the fact that he could die at any moment but is pretty confident that The Doctor will always find a way to get out of whatever predicament he is in solely based on the fact that he is a Time Lord. With a title like that, it is easy to believe that he is in control, but Amy knows better. Since Amy often finds herself in control, it would be great to see her return for Doctor Who's 60th anniversary.
