Doctor Odyssey cruise ship engers experience a week filled with on-theme activities and illnesses. Some of the special weeks have been more tame than others, but each one has featured its own series twist.

The Doctor Odyssey characters are sometimes a bit apprehensive about certain themes, but the ship's crew has maintained an understanding and accepting environment with each differing theme. The special weeks often align with the characters' woes, which heightens the excitement of each theme. With such a broad variety of special weeks so far, it can be hard to think how Doctor Odyssey will top the themes in the second part of season 1, but there are a few ideas that would make great episodes.

9 Comic-Con

The Cruise Could Be Filled With Cosplay, Costume Contests, And Interactive Games

A special week inspired by Comic-Con would be a great way to add some excitement to the show. As Doctor Odyssey has already featured a wedding episode where the whole ship was rented out by a wedding party, a similar thing could happen with a Comic-Con-themed episode. A large organization could rent out The Odyssey so that there is a week filled with cosplay and interactive games.

The special week would be exciting for the engers, but it would also be fun for the crew. It could be used as a way to introduce older audiences, like Captain Massey, to the interests of younger generations. As a way, the proposed Doctor Odyssey episode could be used to merge generational differences by exploring the engaging interests and activities of Comic-Con participants.

8 Dolls

Collections Could Feature Plastic And Porcelain

While dolls can be somewhat creepy to some, a doll-themed special week is right in the alley of Doctor Odyssey. This theme would be similar to Doctor Odyssey's episode 8, "Quackers," which featured enthusiastic plastic duck collectors as they hunted for the squeaky duckies on board. The episode could feature doll-inspired activities like tea parties, or it could also feature a sort of treasure hunt for the most sought-after doll accessories.

Doctor Odyssey's Fever Dream Theory Addressed By Star Joshua Jackson

Doctor Odyssey star Joshua Jackson responds to the fever dream theory, which became popular with audiences following the reveal in the premiere.

The special week could also blend into the character's personal lives, as Captain Massey could reveal his interest in collections, dolls or otherwise, while Tristan hates the theme and Avery laughs at him. As one of the creepier special week themes, it would also fit in with the haunting Doctor Odyssey coma theory. If Max really is in a fever-dream state of mind, then he is bound to have some frightening dreams as well. If the theory is true, then Max has already dreamed of death, so a morbid encounter with a doll is not entirely unlikely.

7 Valentine's Day

An On-Theme Cruise Week For The Several Love Triangles

One of the centerpieces of Doctor Odyssey is the Max, Avery, and Tristan love triangle. The show even introduced the idea of the three of them forming a throuple, with Avery hoping that the two men would be interested in combining their romantic interests. However, Avery's hopes were crushed when Tristan and Max both told her that they were exclusively interested in monogamy. With the romantic tension between them, a Valentine's Day theme would fit right in with the characters' problems.

Avery announced she was pregnant in the final moments of Doctor Odyssey episode 8, "Quackers." However, she does not know who the father is.

A Valentine's Day special week could also spark some romance with Doctor Odyssey's best couple, Tristan and Vivian. With Avery's pregnancy, Tristan and Vivian are sure to have some tense moments between them as they navigate their relationship with the news of Avery's condition. However, a Valentine's Day theme could help solidify Tristan and Vivian as a couple if both were to announce their readiness to commit. Vivian has even said that she is looking for something more serious from Tristan, so a Valentine's Day special week could give him the chance to prove himself.

6 Fashion Week

High Fashion Looks Inspired By The Sea

Doctor Odyssey has had extravagant themes and a theme centered on Fashion Week, inspired by the resort trends and even couture, would be perfect for Doctor Odyssey. The episode could feature a makeshift runway in the dining hall or on the pool deck. A Fashion Week theme would go a long way in emphasizing the exclusivity of The Odyssey, as the theme would align with the luxurious cruise ship.

A Fashion Week theme could feature a gala with a strict black tie dress code.

Doctor Odyssey has shown off Max, Tristan, Avery, and Captain Massey's style, but a special week focused on Fashion Week could take their fashion to the next level. A Fashion Week theme could feature a gala with a strict black tie dress code. The gala and the overall theme would be a great opportunity to show off each character's impeccable sense of personal style with an added touch of glamor.

5 Disco Fever

This Theme Could Feature A Technology-Free Dance Marathon

A disco-themed special week would be excellent in of both plot and ridiculousness. The Doctor Odyssey theme could be heavily inspired by the 1970s and have a strict no-modern-technology rule. The rule could then be the catalyst of several comedic misunderstandings, as characters would only be able to communicate in person. Ryan Murphy's shows have featured incredibly written scenes and a Doctor Odyssey episode that is inspired by the past could be another example of a memorable sequence that highlights the creator's brilliant writing.

The Disco Fever episode could be similar to Doctor Odyssey's Halloween episode, which featured zombie-like symptoms, inspired by the mythological creatures.

A Disco Fever special week could also be interesting medically, as the episode could feature mysterious fevers and dance-like jerking movements that imply engers actually have a disco fever. Worries could arise about a possibly contagious disease before Max would step in with his extensive knowledge to solve everyone's concerns with a simple treatment. The Disco Fever episode could be similar to Doctor Odyssey's Halloween episode, which featured zombie-like symptoms, inspired by the mythological creatures.

4 Furries

An Out Of The Ordinary Theme That Fits Perfectly With Doctor Odyssey's Vibe

A Furries special week would be another example of Doctor Odyssey taking a sometimes misunderstood community and giving them a chance to shine under the ive eye of The Odyssey's crew . A Doctor Odyssey episode about furries would share many similarities with the week on wellness and plastic surgery in the earlier part of the show. Both previous themes featured moments of misunderstanding as the crew tried to understand and accept the various interests of their engers.

A theme centered on Furries might be strange, but it is not weirder than a theme surrounding plastic surgery recovery.

The theme would also fit right in with Doctor Odyssey's ridiculous special weeks. A theme centered on Furries might be strange, but it is not weirder than a theme surrounding plastic surgery recovery. Doctor Odyssey has tried to feature unique themes that have rarely been seen before, and a Furries special week would definitely help the show stand out. It would also make for an amusing episode, much like their fascinating themed episodes so far.

3 Murder Mystery

A Fun And Scary Cruise With ionate engers

A Murder Mystery special week would be one of the most exciting Doctor Odyssey episodes. Filled with quirky characters and ionate engers, a murder mystery theme would give the cast a chance to shine as they interact with their fellow travelers. It would be an exciting theme on its own, but the episode could also combine the characters' personal lives. As Captain Massey often encourages the crew to interact with the engers, a Murder Mystery special week would give them the perfect chance to do so.

Doctor Odyssey Is Wasting Avery By Not Doing A Ryan Murphy-Homage Episode

Ryan Murphy has all the makings of an iconic musical episode, but it can do more for Avery's character than just show off Phillipa Soo's voice.

The mysterious theme could also feature references to popular mystery authors and series, which would make the episode all the more enticing. It would also add to the surreality of the show. There have been several moments that have seemed too unrealistic to ignore, but at the same time, Doctor Odyssey is so good at blending strangeness into reality. Its bizarre themes always turn into interesting episodes.

2 Mythology

A Mythical Cruise Week Would Recall Doctor Odyssey's Reference to Poseidon

A special week centered on mythology would be as educational as it would be entertaining. Ships and crew already have a certain history behind them as travelers of the sea, and the significant history and lore behind them would push intrigue onto this special week on The Odyssey. The episode would be fun, but it could also be mysterious, as it could have hints of ghost stories sprinkled throughout the scenes.

Max dressed up as Poseidon in Doctor Odyssey's episode 5, "Halloween Week," showing his interest in sea-related mythology.

Medically, some engers could develop illnesses that mirror famous ghost stories, spooking out Tristan while Max stays level-headed as he tries to figure out the cause. An episode surrounding a mythical theme would not only cause interesting medical cases, but it would also be different from any episode Doctor Odyssey has had so far. It would also give Ryan Murphy a chance to blend his talent of creating creepy plots with the lighthearted nature of Doctor Odyssey's core.

1 High Tea

Experience The Luxury Of High Tea On The Most Luxurious Ship In The Sea

A High Tea special week would be the most luxurious theme that The Odyssey could offer. Captain Massey prides himself on the exclusiveness of The Odyssey and a theme centered on high tea events with class and etiquette that mirror nobility would make him proud to host. As Captain Massey was somewhat disappointed by some recent special weeks, a High Tea special week would give him a chance to reclaim The Odyssey's luxurious title.

Despite Captain Massey's happiness, Avery would likely be displeased at the event. She has expressed her disappointment in some of the more expensive themes so far because of the type of engers they attract, and High Tea would likely fit into that category. The theme might not be for everyone on Doctor Odyssey, but the episode would be extremely pleasing to view as the delicate colors of The Odyssey's high tea events come up on screen.
