Disney Lorcana is releasing another expansion, Azurite Sea, this November, and it will feature an adorable seafaring pirate theme. While not all cards have been shown yet at the point of writing this article, the ones that have been announced are truly beautiful, and many of which will also change the current meta of the game. Although cards like Pooh Pirate Ship may look and sound cute, in gameplay many of these cards could prove to be heavy hitters for their players.
As usual, the Azurite Sea expansion has release dates for both smaller local stores and one for the larger mass market retailers. Local game stores and Disney's physical stores will launch Disney Lorcana: Azurite Sea on November 15, 2024, with the full release taking place on November 25. This is the sixth expansion to come to Lorcana and although it doesn't introduce any major changes to the game, such as the Location cards of Into the Inklands, many of these cards will still shake things up pretty well at the table.
10 Galactic Council Chamber - Courtroom
204/204, Location, Steel
From the Stitch universe, Steel ink decks are getting a new location that would be very useful at getting easy lore for players with aliens or robots in their decks. The Galactic Council Chamber - Courtroom cannot be challenged while any Alien or Robot character is at the location. As it only costs three ink to put in play, this means that the courtroom can be an easy way for an extra lore each round, with opponents having to struggle to knock it out.
There are not many Stitch cards in the Steel ink so far, but when combined with another ink type such as Amber, it could be a fun combination. Additionally, in Azurite Sea there will be plenty of other aliens to choose from in Steel such as John Silver, Billy Bones, and more.
9 Heffalumps And Woozles
95/204, Song, Emerald
Heffalumps and Woozles may bring out mixed opinions from fans of the Winnie the Pooh franchise, but in Disney Lorcana, this card will be very helpful to its player. The Emerald deck card, Heffalumps and Woozles, is a Song Action that will simultaneously allow the player to draw a card and prevent an opposing character from questing for their next turn. It only costs two ink to play, or characters with a cost of two or more can be exerted to play the card for free.
In a game where players are often looking for more ways to add cards to their hands, the double whammy that Heffalumps and Woozles offers can be a very useful one. Although a Song is only played once and discarded, it has a low enough cost that it would be easy to use multiples of these. Plus, the artwork for this card is pretty incredible.
8 Pooh Pirate Ship
32/204, Item, Amber
Disney Lorcana: Azurite Sea has numerous pirate cards, many of which are Amber ink versions of characters in the Winnie the Pooh universe and will make for a really fun themed deck. Any deck with numerous Pirate characters, whether Pooh related or not, will make good use of this Item card, Pooh Pirate Ship. Using three ink and exerting the played Item will allow a player to take any Pirate card out of their discard pile and put it into their hand.
The illustration on this card is also a wonderful piece that could be an ideal cornerstone for a themed Pirate Pooh deck, featuring the classic Pooh style in the ship design as Pooh helps Piglet out of the water. Hopefully, this artwork will show up on a playmat, deck box, and card sleeves at some point in the future.
7 Tiana - Restaurant Owner
16/204, Storyborn, Amber
As a legendary card, Tiana - Restaurant Owner will not be an easy one to come by, but offers a unique gameplay mechanic. It is an uninkable card, but players will likely not mind much as it is a good card to play. The card only costs three ink to play, and unfortunately, only has four defense, which will make it a quick target for opponents. Thankfully, in true Tiana fashion, she can handle her own pretty well.
Not only is Tiana able to quest for two lore, but as long as Tiana is exerted she has an automatic defensive mechanism that a challenging character has a negative three to their attack unless the other player pays three ink to counter it.
6 Oswald - The Lucky Rabbit
142/204, Storyborn, Sapphire
Oswald has been showing up a lot lately, despite being a classic Disney cartoon from 1927 which was all-but-forgotten by most of the public until recently. Appearing in Epic Mickey: Rebrushed (and its original), as well as being added to Disney Dreamlight Valley, it is not a surprise to see him also added to Disney Lorcana.
The Sapphire ink card only costs two to play, and has a very weak defense of one. As long as it can stay in play, however, Oswald can quest for two and whenever a card is added to the inkwell, the player can look at the top card of their deck and immediately play it if it is an item card. With Sapphire being heavy on useful items, Oswald could be quite effective in the right setup, but will need some kind of bodyguard.
5 Jim Hawkins - Honorable Pirate
25/204, Dreamborn, Amber
Jim Hawkins, Honorable Pirate is one of the headlining cards for the Amber and Ruby starter deck for Azurite Sea. This is an expensive card to play, at a cost of seven and not having the Shift ability, but once on the table it has Bodyguard and a strong defense of seven.
While a bit of a gamble, this Pirate can also add cards to the players hand when played. After looking at the top four cards on the deck, if any of them are Pirate characters then they can be added to the players hand, while the others are placed on the bottom of the deck. Played in the late game, a necessity with that high of an ink cost, adding cards to the players hand can be game changing.
4 Gadget Hackwrench - Brilliant Bosun
140/204, Floodborn, Sapphire
There has long been a desire among fans for Disney Lorcana to include characters from Chip 'N' Dale: Rescue Rangers, and that has finally happened with this sixth expansion to the game. Among these iconic characters is the team's quirky inventor, Gadget Hackwrench. Dubbed the Brilliant Bosun in this card, it will probably also prompt many of the younger generation to research what a Bosun is.
This character card could be clutch for certain Sapphire decks, as, under the right circumstances, Gadget could make her way to the table much earlier in the game than one would think. She can be shifted on top of another Gadget card, bringing her cost to only four instead of six, and, if the player has three or more items in play, they can pay one less ink for any Inventor.
Rules will need to be clarified about whether this card can benefit from that effect as well, or if it only applies after the card is in play, as there is some confusion online already among players.
3 Tinker Bell - Queen Of The Azurite Fairies
48/204, Floodborn, Amethyst
Featuring some of the most beautiful artwork shown so far in the Azurite Sea set, Tinker Bell - Queen of the Azurite Fairies is one for both collectors and players. The card can be Shifted to be played for only five ink when on another Tinker Bell character, and has Evasive to protect it. Not only does she then quest for two lore, but any other Fairy characters from the same player will get an additional one lore added to their questing that turn.
Tinker Bell has always been a fan-favorite for many, and the design on this card features her wearing a stunning outfit while holding a magical scepter. It is a beautiful illustration on top of a very good card, which many are hoping will become one of the Enchanted cards for the set.
2 John Silver - Stern Captain
194/204, Floodborn, Steel
Treasure Planet's cyborg pirate villain, John Silver, is a natural for the Azurite Seas set and its pirate focus. John Silver is a Legendary card, however, so pulling one of these is going to be rare, but very worthwhile. Using a Shift mechanic to bring the ink cost down to five, and combined with Resist plus two added to a strong defense of six, he is already set to be a force to be reckoned with.
His "Don't Just Sit There" ability makes this a truly powerful card, however. At the start of the player's turn, one damage is dealt to each opposing character that is readied. Although it would be better if it could attack all the exerted characters too, this would prevent a player from protecting cards from challenges by keeping them readied.
1 Stitch - Alien Buccaneer
72/204, Floodborn, Emerald
The little blue alien, Stitch, has become something of a mascot for Disney Lorcana, with many of the most beloved cards, and even the key artwork for many sets, featuring Stitch. For Azurite Sea, Stitch is even getting his own Gift Set with a binder and many goodies.

Disney Lorcana Stitch Collector's Gift Set: Release Date, Cards, Price, & What's Included
Disney Lorcana has revealed its next set, Azurite Sea, including a Stitch Gift Set ideal for collectors. Here’s what’s inside, and what els to know.
The card is a strong one for play as well. If players use the Shift mechanic, then when Stitch is played, they can then take an action card out of their discard pile and place it on the top of their deck. Stitch can quest for two, and has decent attack and defense, particularly for a three or four cost card. Plus, it is hard not to just break out in a smile when looking at the adorable artwork of this little alien buccaneer in Disney Lorcana.
