Disney Dreamlight Valley has just unveiled its next big update for 2025, Wonderland Whimsy, and it's coming April 23, 2025. This long-awaited update confirms speculation about the possible addition of Alice alongside the previously confirmed addition of the Cheshire Cat, both from Alice in Wonderland, but that's not all that's coming.

In addition to Alice and her realm, there will also be numerous quality of life updates made to the game, as well as a new Star Path. The new Star Path, The Garden of Whimsy, will feature various items that pair well alongside Alice in Wonderland and celebrate Spring. However, the biggest news about this update may be what's coming to the DDV Shop.

Alice in Wonderland Arrives In Dreamlight Valley

Prepare For Alice & Her Realm To Bring Chaos To The Valley

After the release of the 2025 Dreamlight Valley Roap for the first half of the year, it was widely known that some sort of Alice in Wonderland update would be arriving in the Spring. However, the image and previous updates only alluded to the fact that the Cheshire Cat would be added to the game, so up until now, it was unknown whether a realm or even Alice herself would be part of the update as well. Thankfully, speculation can now be put to rest as Alice is a confirmed part of this update.

Both she and the Cheshire Cat will come to the valley alongside their unique realm, where you'll help Alice free animals from the Queen of Hearts' garden without being caught by her guards. While there's no sign of the Queen herself yet, Disney Dreamlight Valley has been no stranger to villains and may be saving her for a possible future update. Also, it's worth noting that while Alice will unlock with the completion of her realm, the Cheshire Cat will require the completion of some village tasks before he can be formally welcomed and befriended.

Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of the Alice in Wonderland addition is the lack of the beloved Mad Hatter, but as we've seen before with Timon and Pumba being added to the Valley, it doesn't necessarily mean he won't ever make an appearance. There is a good chance that this realm could see new characters added in smaller updates over the next year.

Enjoy Long-Awaited Quality Of Life Improvements

Deconstruct Crafted Items For Materials, Expand Storage, & Serve Up A Buffet

Once you've welcomed the Cheshire Cat to the valley, you'll be able to begin his friendship quests, where you'll unlock the first major quality of life improvement in this update. The Uncrafting Station is a contraption that will allow you to insert previously crafted items you no longer need and turn those items back into their basic raw materials. This is a massive change that will not only help progression throughout the game, but also help clear out some inventory.

There will be a Dreamlight Cost each time the Uncrafting Station is used. At this time, there is no confirmation of how much it will be and whether this will be a flat rate or a cost unique to the item being deconstructed.

At the moment, there's no way to simply delete items you no longer want. You have to either place them or store them. This can be especially frustrating when a specific quest requires the crafting of something you never intended to use. Oftentimes, raw materials are more valuable than items you can always re-craft later, so this is a great way to get back rare items from objects you don't need that can then be used to craft something else or complete a quest.

Another quality of life update coming is the option to expand any storage chest. Previously, you had the option to purchase a Small, Medium, or Large chest, and depending on which one you purchased, you would have a set number of available slots. Now, at the cost of a bit of Dreamlight, you'll be able to expand the slots of any chest. While this is overall great news, especially if you're like me and have been painfully awaiting the day that you might see Daisy's Wardrobe in Scrooge's Shop, changes to storage features also always mean more time spent reorganizing.

Finally, a small update, but still worth mentioning, is the update to the grid placement on the surfaces of tables. Rather than a very limited grid system, players will now have more freedom to lay out a buffet or organize their table layouts as they see fit. Since many tables are also used for organizing storage items, this could also mean some redecorating is in order as well.

Celebrate Spring With The Garden Of Whimsy Star Path

A Fresh & Floral Star Path Arrives With Plenty Of New Items

The next Disney Dreamlight Valley Star Path, Garden of Whimsy, will also be launched alongside this update per usual. While it's not confirmed how long this Star Path will be, it's expected to be around the general 2-month timeline that most do, ending just in time for the Summer update. In celebration of Spring, the Garden of Whimsy Star Path will feature various items related to Alice in Wonderland as well as Disney Fairies.

While there isn't a full breakdown of the items to be included yet, there will be various Pixie and Victorian Era-inspired outfits, items fit for the perfect Tea Party, and a new Dream Style for Minnie. Minnie's new Dream Style features her in a floral-patterned blue and yellow dress with a gorgeous hat to top it off. In addition to these items, another confirmed item for the Star Path is the addition of a new companion. While the companion wasn't formally identified, it appears to be a butterfly that strongly resembles Absolem from Alice in Wonderland.

A First Look At Star Wars In Dreamlight Valley

An Update Just In Time For May The 4th

Just in time for the annual May The 4th Star Wars Day celebration, Disney Dreamlight Valley also revealed the addition of some unique items in the Shop. When the update launches, players will be able to snag Naboo-inspired Jedi robes, their very own Lightsaber, and even a trusted R2D2 companion. While this may seem like a small update, this is the first live-action content being formally added to Dreamlight Valley that includes a character, even if it is just as a companion.

Additionally, this could be a way for Disney Dreamlight Valley to raise anticipation of a future update that will include Star Wars characters or maybe even an entire realm. As of this moment, we have no idea what the next expansion will be, as we still await the remainder of the Storybook Vale expansion, nor do we know the Road Map for the latter half of 2025, so there is a possibility that more Star Wars content may not be so far, far away. For now, however, look forward to the Wonderland Whimsy update coming April 23, 2025.
