One of the most entertaining aspects of Deadpool's latest issue, Wade has his hands on a new weapon that might tip the scale in his favor.

Written by Alyssa Wong and illustrated by Martin Coccolo, Deadpool #13 introduces Wade to a magical sword capable of cutting through Solem’s skin. Given that Solem's skin is made out of the same adamantium as Wolverine's claws, this new blade gives the merc with a mouth a new edge in any future fights.

This revelation added a new twist to these characters' on-and-off relationship. While adamantium is known for its indestructibility, the rare metal has more than a few weaknesses, and now Deadpool has the potential to exploit them.

In Deadpool #13, Wade Wilson embarks on a quest for vengeance against Solem, the mutant who helped arm Death Grip with the Muramasa Blade that ultimately killed him, or at least that's what they thought. As always, Wade Wilson has proven difficult to kill, and after recovering, he stumbles upon a magic sword stolen from Ares’ herald. Solem's adamantium skin serves as the test case, and it’s here that Deadpool uses the new weapon, revealing its magic-infused capabilities.

I Can’t Believe Every Deadpool Movie In The Trilogy Beats The Most Respected Fox X-Men Movie Of All Time At The Box Office

All three of Deadpool’s movies have made a lot of money, but it’s shocking to think that each one outgrossed what is considered the best X-Men movie.

This new blade able to slice right through Solem's nearly indestructible adamantium skin. This challenges the very idea of the rare metals' impenetrability. While adamantium is one of the most resilient metals in the Marvel universe, magic has always been one of its vulnerabilities. We've seen Wolverine's claws meet their match when used against magical weapons before, such as when he tried to see if he could cut through the soul sword. However, magic isn't the only thing that can pierce adamantium.

It's Not the Only One

While Deadpool’s new sword is undoubtedly a game-changer, it’s important to note that it’s not the only thing capable of piercing adamantium. Throughout Marvel history, there have been a few rare substances and weapons that have managed to challenge or even defeat adamantium's seemingly unbreakable properties. One of the most notable of these is Antarctic Vibranium, also known as Anti-Metal, a rare and powerful form of Vibranium that causes metals to liquefy upon .

Wolverine and Deadpool are back together in Marvel Comics, but this time they're bringing their daughters along for a brand new team-up series.

This substance, discovered in Antarctica, has long been known for its ability to dissolve metals, including adamantium. In fact, if large enough quantities of Antarctic Vibranium were used, it could theoretically liquefy the adamantium structure in its entirety, which could turn wolverine into a puddle. Another example is the Ebony Blade, a weapon so powerful that it has been shown to cut through adamantium with ease. While Deadpool's new blade adds a new layer to his anti-adamantium arsenal, it exists within a small group of items that can achieve such feats.

Introducing this magic sword adds a fresh dynamic to Deadpool's already unpredictable nature, giving him a potential edge over Wolverine in future encounters. Given that both mutants' healing factors allow them to survive decapitation, the new blade allows for quicker conflict resolution between the two iconic frenemies. This finally gives one side a definitive edge in what have been countless brutal stalemates between the seemingly immortal mutants.

This dynamic not only adds a layer of humor to their interactions but also creates a fun new avenue for future storylines. With his nearly invulnerable claws, Wolverine has always been one of the most feared characters in Marvel, but now Deadpool has the chance to give him something to be afraid of. Hopefully, Logan is smart enough to recognize this and remain on Wade's good side, but only time will tell.
