Apple TV+ has revealed a first look at their multiversal sci-fi series Dark Matter, including a glimpse at a universe hopping device. Based on the 2016 novel by Blake Crouch, the series was greenlit by the streamer in March 2022. It s a catalog of other popular sci-fi shows on the platform, like Silo and For All Mankind, promising a twisted adventure across different realities.

Amanda Brugel (The Handmaid's Tale) will also be ing the series in a recurring role. Crouch, author of the original novel, will also be serving as showrunner, indicating it will be a faithful adaption of his original work.

Given how anticipated sci-fi series on Apple TV+ are, such as Severance season 2 and Foundation season 3, Dark Matter could be the next big hit for the streaming platform. However, since it's based on only one book, it's unclear if the show could set itself up for a multi-season arc.
