Chucky season 3 finale. The Child's Play franchise has spawned eight movies, and began with the titular slasher, released in 1988. Tilly first ed the franchise in 1998 for the fourth movie, Bride of Chucky, in which she played the murderous doll's serial-killing girlfriend Tiffany, whose soul is trapped in a doll. She was killed off at the end, but resurrected for the 2004 follow-up Seed of Chucky, with Tiffany's soul placed in the body of her favorite actress, Tilly.

In an interview with Variety, Tilly discussed her strong working relationship with creator Don Mancini, and addressed the desire for further franchise appearances. Since the metafictional move, Tilly has found herself a mainstay in the franchise, appearing in the three sequel movies, and making the crossover to TV to appear in Chucky. In the season 3 finale, everything changed when Tiffany was forced to exorcize her soul from Tilly and be put it back into a doll, effectively ending the actress's physical role in the franchise. I love ‘Chucky’ so much, and I would feel so devastated if there was ever a ‘Chucky’ without me. But I don’t think there will be, because Don sees me as his good luck charm. And he loves my character. And no one ever dies in this story. When Don loves people, he loves to bring them back. So maybe he will have me play Tiffany’s sister or something. You know Tiffany has a sister that she also hates, right?

For Tilly, this will mark a significant event, as she has been a part of the Child's Play franchise consistently for the past 20 years. It is clear from Tilly's comments that she is deeply attached to Tiffany, and the franchise as a whole, so it feels unlikely this will be the curtain call for her involvement in Chucky, or the franchise as a whole.

As of right now, it would appear that Tilly's physical role has wrapped up. but she will likely continue to voice the murderous doll for as long as the character appears in the show. However, as her comments suggest, this is not a franchise where characters tend to stay dead, and there are options to bring Tilly back in a new capacity, and even as an entirely different character, should the narrative provide for it.

For Tilly, this may be viewed as a much-needed break from the physical demands of Chucky for a while, and it could also be the case that the Bound star is looking to explore other projects, and wants to be able to remove herself from the franchise for a time physically. For now, Chucky season 4 has been renewed, but if that happens, there is a good chance Tilly will be involved in some capacity.
