Following the loss of two pivotal series regulars in season 12, original Chicago Fire cast are no longer on the show. Heading into season 13, only four Chicago Fire actors who have been around since season 1 are still in the cast.

New episodes of Chicago Fire season 13 (which contains 22 episodes) air on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.

Chicago Fire season 13 picks up six weeks after the events of the season 12 finale, and there's a new chief in town. As some may recall, Boden picked Herrmann as his successor. Instead, Boden's replacement in Chicago Fire season 13 is someone outside Firehouse 51, meaning there is a new addition to the procedural drama's main cast who is the other characters' new leader.
