Since writer Murewa Ayodele has dubbed her new silver-white and gold costume the “Brutal Storm” look, Storm has had her fair share of iconic costumes over decades of Marvel Comics history, the new suit making its debut in her solo series is specifically designed for brutal combat.

Even though the series is teasing that the legendary mutant hero is dying, she’s still a powerful threat as she flies into the fight with radiation poisoning, revealed in the cliffhanger ending to Storm #1. As seen in Storm #2’s preview, Storm expertly utilizes the new costume’s features and her mutant power of control over the earthly elements to enhance her skill in battle. Calling upon the wind and bending the ocean to her will to land a devastating double-kick, Storm’s first action scene in the costume elevates her weather manipulation abilities to a whole new level.

With her famous superhero fashions being celebrated in the 2024 debut issue, the Brutal Storm look that’s made for battle is a stunning new addition to her iconic closet. The white and gold suit isn’t even the only upgrade she’ll be getting, as she’ll also take on a cosmic form called the Eternal Storm in the series’ near future.
