The St. David superyacht will soon be ready to depart, as the newest season of Bravo's hit reality show, new and old navigating the usual Below Deck struggles of demanding charter guests, interpersonal drama, boat accidents, firings, and one potentially scandalous hook-up between a guest and crew member, Kyle Stillie. Before the season gets underway, let's get to know Chef Lawrence a little more.

Chef Lawrence is a first-timer on the reality TV circuit, and if his stress at being on camera at all times is any indicator, Chef Lawrence might be in for a choppy season. Part of the gig of appearing on Below Deck season 12 is that not only are the crew having to do their jobs, they're doing it under the watchful eyes of the show's camera crew. The presence of cameras can heighten the pressure of the job, but that's part of the beauty of Below Deck.

Being born on April 15 makes Lawrence an Aries, which means that he's most likely a good problem-solver, which will definitely come in handy on the Below Deck ship.

Lawrence told Bravo that when he's not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and also loves to renovate houses. And when asked where his favorite place he traveled was, he said that Corsica and Sardinia are preferred destinations. He told Bravo, "It's so beautiful there, and the water's so clean."

Chef Lawrence's experience will be a benefit to him when trying to meet the high standards of Captain Kerry and the charter guests. He's most likely used to dealing with picky guests, but he may not be used to having to do it all on camera. His culinary chops will be put to the test in this high-pressure environment.

Lawrence has an interesting backstory, which he revealed in an exclusive Below Deck preview from Bravo. In the clip, Lawrence opened up about battling depression throughout his twenties, and the way that drove him to find religion. Lawrence claimed that his "faith guides [him] through stressful situations," which he'll most likely rely on during the season.

"Short-temperedness, anger, addictions... There was a point in my life where I started reading the Bible and I became a born-again Christian."

By the looks of this preview, Lawrence is really uncomfortable with the cameras recording his every move. He breaks the fourth wall and asks them not to film him during certain situations, which is a big no-no when it comes to shooting a reality show. He needs to pretend the cameras aren't there at all, but it's taking him some time to adjust.

Lawrence quoted the Bible (Ephesians 6, verses 7-9) when he said that his motto in life was, "serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do." He clearly relies on his faith to help him navigate through life's hardships. Lawrence seems like he has a strong system in his faith.
