Captain Sandy Yawn and Malia White from Below Deck Mediterranean shared to social media a reunion of the two at a golf course driving range. Sandy has taken Malia under her wing ever since they both appeared on the series during season 2. The co-workers bonded over their love for the sea and their dedication to the yachting industry. Malia has also looked up to Sandy as a mentor since they have known each other, as Malia hopes to one day become a successful captain like Sandy.
The bosun and the captain were introduced to viewers of the Bravo series when they climbed aboard Sirocco in Croatia during season 2. When Malia ed the crew in Croatia, she was hired as one of the deckhands and worked alongside bosun Wes and deckhands Max and Bobby. Sandy was also new to the team during the second season and would often micromanage her staff. Even though most of the crew didn't like her, Sandy managed to maintain her role on the show. Sandy and Malia reunited for season 5 in Spain; however, fans quickly turned on them as they were the reason for Hannah Ferrier's sudden departure.
Last weekend, the 30-year-old shared a picture of herself and the 55-year-old at a golf course driving range to claims Hannah wanted to be fired, also had a great time during their outing. "It was so great to catch up and meet your friends!" she wrote in the comments to Malia's post, noting she had "a lot of fun!"
Leah, Sandy's girlfriend, also showed Malia, who once dated Tom Checketts, some love on social media after meeting her. "What a wonderful evening! Played topgolf with my love @captainsandrayawn and Malia White and friends!" she gushed in a post on Instagram, "So great to finally meet Malia in person, what an amazing soul!" After more than a year since the Below Deck Med season 5 premiere, Malia and Sandy have been busy in the yachting industry. Malia recently completed an Atlantic crossing in April, while Sandy started Captain Sandy and the Ocean Rangers, an animated classroom program designed to teach students about keeping the ocean safe (via BravoTV).
Malia and Sandy have remained close since they finished their last charter in the final episodes of season 5. Even though the two went through a rough patch last fall after Sandy called Malia "secretly gay," they were able to move past it and remain good friends. It seems as though viewers may be getting an on-screen Malia and Sandy reunion when season 6 of Below Deck Med airs later this year.
