The Blood of Lathander is one of the legendary weapons that players should consider getting in Baldur's Gate 3. The mace is not easy to acquire as you will need to clear a set of tricky puzzles inside a monastery. However, getting this weapon is worth the trouble, and you will first need to collect several ceremonial weapons tied to a quest. Plenty of traps and other dangers await you if you want this sacred artifact, so be prepared to face several challenges.
The Blood of Lathander will be guarded by constructs and Githyanki, making the surrounding area quite challenging to explore if you need a high enough level. To find the weapon fast, ensure you have recruited Lae'Zel in Baldur's Gate 3, as she can help persuade some guards not to attack your party. The Blood of Lathander is also tied to Lae'Zel if you have followed her questline until now.

All Legendary Weapons In Baldur's Gate 3, Ranked
There are 13 legendary weapons to be found in Baldur's Gate 3, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Here's how each weapon holds up in-game.
How To Reach the Blood of Lathander
You will need to reach the Rosymorn Monastery, as it holds the Blood of Lathander. To reach the mace, you will first need to open the Githyanki Creche, a circular dial with four sections. The four sections signify the ceremonial weapons you must collect to solve this puzzle. Once you have the weapons, you must place them on the pedestals surrounding the Creche, which will, in turn, open a path into the Monastery. The items are scattered around the area, with different trials for each:
Ceremonial Weapon |
Location |
---|---|
Ceremonial Longsword |
Found already on one of the pedestals; you don't need to do anything more with this item. |
Ceremonial Battleaxe |
Located toward the southeast of the Creche, where a Guardian of Faith construct must be defeated to obtain the weapon. |
Ceremonial Warhammer |
In the Eagle's Nest above the Monastery, where you have to negotiate or kill the eagles near the item to get the Warhammer. |
Ceremonial Mace |
Wielded by one of several Kobold enemies that can be defeated in a small room near the Creche. |
Placing all four ceremonial weapons on the right pedestals will show a small pouch with the Dawnmaster's Crest item as loot, which interacts with a control next to the Blood of Lathander.
The moment you open the Creche with all of the ceremonial weapons, you will be able to go to the Githyanki Stronghold. There will be guards who won't let you inside the Stronghold unless you fight or trick them. You will also need to grab the Gith Shard item from the Captain's Quarters in the stronghold, as it will open a magical barrier that blocks you from going to the stronghold's lower levels.
Traveling to the Inquisitor's Room beyond Stronghold's barrier leads to a small puzzle where you have to move two statues in a room with a large map. A strong Perception check in Baldur's Gate 3 will tell you to push the right statue so that it faces the west of the map and the left statue faces the east. From here, you can then enter the next room where the Blood of Lathander rests close by.
The Blood of Lathander Location
The Daybreak Chamber hosts the legendary weapon, with three barriers that have to be deactivated to reach the Blood of Lathander. These magical obstacles are powered by crystals that you must destroy, but each is guarded by a great number of traps. Make sure your custom character in Baldur's Gate 3 or someone in your party has a high Sleight of Hand stat for a good chance to disarm these traps.
The first crystal is left of the chamber, hanging on the wall for a ranged attack or magic spell to destroy. The second can be seen in a cave past the first crystal after a few more traps. The last and final gem powering the barriers is right of a blocked door guarded by a unique trap emitting light rays that could hurt your party in Baldur's Gate 3.
Taking down every crystal opens the way forward in the Daybreak Chamber to an altar whose magic prevents just anyone from collecting the holy weapon. By using the Dawnmaster's Crest from the area's first puzzle, you can find the Blood of Lanthander in your grasp.
