About Arielle Port
Arielle Port has been a Writer for Screen Rant since August 2024. Arielle feels destined to write about television and film - even as a teen, when the Harry Potter films were released, she would interrogate her friends on what worked and what didn’t in of adaptation. Her love of film went from interest to lifelong ion while at The University of Pennsylvania, where she fell in with a student-run web series, Classless TV, and it was a gateway drug. For five years, Arielle produced Hallmark Christmas movies - her favorite being The Santa Stakeout starring Tamera Mowry-Housley. Now she is bringing her pop culture obsession to Screen Rant. She lives in Los Angeles with her cat, Boseman.
Industry Focus
Arielle specializes in network sitcoms, including Abbott Elementary and Ghosts. Arielle knows everything MCU related, and is psyched for Agatha All Along and Captain America: Brave New World. Her love of musicals extends to television, movies, and live theater. When it comes to reality/competition shows, Arielle loves to rewatch America’s Next Top Model and Project Runway, despite not being fashion-forward herself.
Favorite Media
Arielle is quite omnivorous in the television and movies she consumes, but her favorite genres are fantasy/sci-fi, comedy, and anything musical. Character-based stories blow her away more than spectacle. Some of her favorite film franchises include Harry Potter, the MCU (still!), and Shrek. sequels she is excited to write about include Mamma Mia 3 and The Devil Wears Prada, as well as Wicked. Her favorite filmmakers include Diablo Cody (Jennifer’s Body, Juno), Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, and debatably Ant-Man), and Damien Chazelle (Whiplash, La La Land.) Some of the current favorite shows include House of the Dragon, Only Murders in the Building, Hacks, The Boys, and Bad Monkey.
